I was down at home with a severe tummy ache. After lunch I was fast asleep when my friend came to see me and suggested that if I was better we should go ahead to see this movie which was topping the charts. Got up and walked into the neighbourhood theatre with my friend.

I have always admired Sivakumar from my childhood days and was eagerly waiting to see his son Surya on the big screen, whom I have been watching on TV and was impressed with this shy young actor.

We walked into an empty theatre. The theatre was expensive compared to the place and locality it was in. But I settled down with the intention of enjoying it.

The start was very unusual with the hero falling down into deep waters.

Most of the movie being flash back! But the flashback was not gripping because the director had lost his hold somewhere, as it was neither a proper flashback nor a proper narration by the hero. The director seemed to be in a hurry so got confused as to how to show the actual happenings in the hero’s life. The first song picturised on Jyothika and Surya was good but we were not able to enjoy it because the audiovisual effects of the theatre were very poor. There is no place for the dance and song by Ramya Krishnan, I was waiting to see her, and was disappointed to see her at the end of the movie especially her dance, I don’t know why such a talented actress should end up doing such numbers.

The plot was good if we take into consideration that it is just an episode in an IPS officer’s life. Three of the hero’s friends who are efficient IPS officers like him are young and all of them work together to bring down the bad men in the city. But we could not digest that Surya did not realise that one of his friends Srikant was betraying him. The bad man in the movie Jeevan is a cinematic villain and not like a villain in real life, The director seemed to have wanted to make a realistic movie but lost his guts somewhere on the way.

Surya is good in his acting, depicting a shy, reserved male. But at the end when he encounters Jeevan it seemed as if he could not show his expressions so the director has only shown his silhouette and not his face in the total fight sequence.

A movie with good music, good cast but the director seemed to have lost his hold on the basic planning of the movie.

Can watch at a good theatre with good audiovisual effects to enjoy it truly.
