First of all the design - why Kent has UV lamp in a RO system. The RO system is enough to filter all microbiological impurities. The reason why they have it is because of their claim of retaining "essential minerals". Actually some water bypasses the RO filter, and for this bypassed water they need the UV lamp. And If the UV lamp fails you can get dangerous water with bacteria and viruses.
In my case the UV lamp has consistently given problems on and off after one year(i.e. beyond warranty). The UV fail beep would come on every once in a while but the service technician never accepted it saying "it happens some time or the other if there is voltage fluctuation". Two months ago I got the choke changed then again one week ago I got the UV lamp changed, I have spent 1000 rupees on this UV part and still the beep comes on. Actually the lamp goes dim and after some time stops glowing and the beep starts. The service technicians have never been able to pin point this issue. Even if you call them(pure water house bangalore) they will say the technician will come next day, but he will come 3-4 days later. I will dump this and go for ZeroB. Kent is very expensive to maintain yearly sediment and carbon filter change nearly 1000 rupees. Then RO filter change 2-3 years - 2000 rupees. Each visit 300 rupees.
