This is to alert & advice all prospective buyers of Kent in Bangalore. I suffered a lot after buying this product and wanted to share with you so that you can be careful while buying this.
The proudct itself is of good quality & built sturdy. One problem with this is, if your inlet water quality varies frequently, you have to adjust the TDS controller everytime by opening the top cover. This is difficult.
Coming to the sales & service part... this is where I was cheated both by the seller & by the company. I bought it from a seller who has setup a roadside kiosk near my house. He promptly got the machine but due to poor installation (the two screws into the wall are not inline!) machine gave lot of vibrations and the result is loud noise & patch on the wall where the machine was hitting.
Within a few months the machine started running for a very long time and when I checked the outlet line, there is no water coming out at all. I called the seller dozens of times (call attended by someone) and more dozens of times (calls not taken by anyone) and everytime he promised to come by next day. This is even without asking my name, number, or address!! This is horrible.
So the guy never turned up. I decided to go to his office and started searching for the address given in the bill. it turned out to be a 1-bed room house (and locked) in a building which has 5 other such houses with someone living there and looked very hostile environment.
So without a word again with the seller (I'm really frightened), I contacted Kent Bangalore office who promptly took the complaint and sent a technician. He came the next day, chceked the machine and told that all 3 filters must be changed. As this is still under warranty he took photocopy of my bill and went back saying he will get new filters after getting approval from the company.
10-15 days passed by. I contacted the service center everyday. Kent outsourced this to some other company. Finally they told me to contact Kent as they didn't get approval. When I called back Kent, what they said is astonishing. It is a fake bill! They told that the seller is not authorized and the product cannot be covered under warranty. When I asked how he was able to sell me the product if he is not authorized, the are saying there are many illegal ways of getting Kent machines. They are neither ready to help me nor take action on the seller.
I thought of going to the consumer forum but not done so as I didn't want to compromise on my safety putting myself into the legal hassles with the rackets behind it. My only advice to you is to buy it from authorized Kent retailer or directly call up Kent.
