Again, KenStar - ’Welcome to the way the World lives’.

This time it’s not a swift running, Egg cleaning Tumble Top Washing Machine but a weather defying, heel cooling little cooler. KenStar 9702 is a multiuse, durable, efficient, simple and safe in use Cooler. With these many qualities you may ask what on earth Air Conditioners (AC) and Fans are doing and how come they outnumber Coolers? Well that’s a pretty obvious question without a complete satisfactory answer. Still I would explain and try to make a point as to why one should go for a cooler.

Fans are old fashioned, traditional and use very basic, fundamental concept of cooling i.e. taking available air and making it flow at larger speed there by giving the effect of cooling. Not much technology is needed to run a fan except a motor. Simple the technology low is the prize. This is one reason why fans have outnumbered coolers and AC’s. Air Conditioners have capabilities of uniform cooling. By cooling I really mean cooling. Everyone knows how it feels coming out of AC room to room temperature. Heater in AC’s makes life in extreme cold weather easy and warmer. They not only maintain cool or warm but sort of condition the air to suite our needs. That’s what makes Air Conditioners so popular than Air Coolers. Also cooler need cold water or Ice cubes to get the temperature down without which they are just fans. I am sorry if I disillusioned you but these are the facts even a kid knows. Still people like me (and my family) own a Cooler. Why?

One major reason is the cost. Air Conditioners have sky-high prizes; they consume tremendous power resulting in high electric bill. Fixing and interior changes cost differently. The Point is they aren’t just suitable for a middle class family like ours with a two-room kitchen flat or double bedroom block. Ceiling fans have limited range of cooling and are inflexible, immobile to cover all areas of the room. Especially in extremely hot summers with a high humidity fans are nothing but a useless moving thing. (All Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai residents must be knowing what do I mean by a hot summer). I highly recommend AC’s for Delhi residents ‘cause anything else just doesn’t make any since (Imagine 45+ Degree C.). In Mumbai it’s more humid than hot. You can’t live without bathing twice, once by water and second by sweat. So a Cooler can be classified as a necessity or at least a possibility.

After long introduction and desperation I hope I conveyed my point and come to the main purpose of Product reviewing. I have a special faith in KenStar products because of the faith they have shown in their customers by providing products like Kenstar Tumble Top Machine with stringent quality control norms. Modes of Operation

KenStar 9702 little cooler plus has two modes of operation. Cool mode delivers cool air (calling it breeze would be a sarcasm). In the Fan mode it works like a fan (as simple as that). Ice chamber is located at the top of the cooler. Cold water drips down on cooling pads for effective cooling. (Hey what’s the big deal if you were going to cool of my heels like this? – Well… read along please).

Air Deflection System

Don’t get bothered by the feature name, its just a specially designed horizontal louvers and motorized vertical ventilators. It ensures that the cool air is distributed uniformly all around the place. You can also keep moving louvers stable by the knob provided. They also act as a measure of safety from possible accidents, particularly kids. A rotating synthetic pad is a kind of a moisture pad, which provides a right kind of temperature drop for dry weather. Weather of Pune is very much dry. You can walk through the scorching heat without sweating but beware of sunstrokes and dehydration. This feature makes the Cooler indispensable even in low humidity areas.

Dust Filter Screen

Air inlet made up of some polymer filters out dust particles, pollutants, irritants, which are normally carried in the air. Thus Unlike fans KenStar cooler lets the clean fresh air in and out of the cooler. (Slowly you will understand the difference in fans and Coolers).

Filling Door and Level Indicator

The water filling door or the Ice chamber lid has been designed for user convenience (User Friendly!). The term is Ergonomic. Water level indicator on the front face lets you keep a check on water level. Water capacity is 10.5 ltrs.

Other

Speed blower with 3 ranges gives you a better hold cool air. Free wheeling castors make it convenient to wheel it around from one place to another. Good finishing and design is a secondary but notable feature of this cooling machine.
