Kashid Beach.... go for it...... Review on Kashid Beach, Kashid

We (my wife & 3 year old son) were planning to visit Alibagh long time back, but it got delayed due to some reason… then suddenly it was decided to visit Alibagh.

I have started searching for more information about this place through net, but most of the search helped through Mouthshut review. Our main stream was to enjoy Beach, so we decided to go to Kashid instead of Alibagh. On 25th of November our journey begin early in the morning at 7.15 am.

This was my first long distance drive. The route I took was Borivali (Mumbai) - Jogeshwari link road- Eastern Express Highway - Chembur- (before Chembur) Vashi- Panvel- Mumbai- Goa Highway

We took a short break at Vithal Kamats . The journey from here is straight & forward. Karnala wildlife sanctuary will come on the way. Well placed Direction board will help you on the way.

Just before you reach Alibagh ( 1 Km before) take a Left turn ( there will be a board sigh of hotel Kashid beach- Prakurti Resort) & then take a right turn after 2 Km ( the direction board will assist you) if you are unsure please ask the local people they will guide you.

From Borivali to Alibagh the Km is around 120. From Alibagh to Kashid its 38 Kames. The distance between Alibagh & Kashid will take at least 1 ½ hours. There are lots of small village & school with narrow road on the way so be careful while driving.

There are few hotels in kashid. One is Prakhurti Resort which charge Rs 7000/ for one night stay. Other is Kashid Beach Resort. We planned to stay at Picnic park cottage (which was suggested by many people on mouthshut review) which is on the way.

The cottage is very basic. There was a college crowd half drunked, so we decided not to move in & search for better place (the cottage room rates was Rs 1000/- but can easily available between 500-600.Not suitable for Family).

Just moving ahead (1/2 km) we checked in at Nisarg Cottage (Nisarg Tourist Home MTDC approved). The rooms were well maintained (basic amenities) with power backup. Nice garden in front.

Total rooms available are 12. The cost of per night Stay was Rs 2000/- finally after negotiating I paid Rs 2600/- for Two Nights Stay. We stayed at first floor which has verandah.

The best part of the cottage is the beach is hardly 2oo Mtrs away…They served us homemade food which was very good.

For water sport lover they have Speed Boat- Banana Boat- Rafting boat .. (Of course you can enjoy even if you do not stay at their cottage...) The charges: Speed boat Rs 500 for 2 people. Banana Ride Rs 150/- per person.

Let’s talk about the beach. This is the best beach you will ever get . (Next to Kerala & Goa). The sand is silver. Very neat & clean Beach. Stretch about 5- 6 Kms. There are two junctions to reach the beach. First as said earlier which is near to Nisarg Cottage.

The other junction is before Nisarg Cottage, which has shed to rest & small food junction. There is nothing else to see in kashid except beach...

The next day in evening we have decided to go to Murud which is 22 Km drive. We were completely disappointed. The beach was very untidy.

Suggest not to visit & please don’t stay at this place… we just spent 15 Minutes & were back at Kashid Beach.

Next Morning we check out & decided to stay at Alibagh. It is a small town. We just wanted to have a look at the city. Didn't visit any fort. We stayed at Sun & Sea Resort which is situated at Court Road. The hotel is average. Interior is poor. Has A/c. other amenities: swimming pool, Indoor Games.

The Room Charges are Rs 2500/- but negotiated to Rs 1500/-. Could have got at 1200-. The beach is 300 mtrs away. We had our lunch at Dwarka Restaurant, which is nearby. Food was excellent. Recommends to all wherever you stay in Alibagh please visit this Restaurant.

Evening is a big problem in Alibagh. Lots of Mosquito so you have to stay in hotel. The next day we left for Mumbai. The route was different from the one which we came from Mumbai. Not sure which route it was!!!! The road was very good.

It took us 4 Hours to reach Mumbai (Borivali East). Total Km we travelled almost 360 km (To & Fro) I was smiling all the way because my car (Santro Le Model) gave me average of 15 Km in A/c…of course you have to pay toll tax approx Rs 200 Toll tax (to & fro).
