Kashi - a story about class distinction - rich v/s poor. Nothing new in this theme. However, its rustic flavor, village setting, realistic looking characters bring life to the age old theme.
A young 6 year old girl, has the desire to go to school like other rich children and do things for her parents and others. Lofty ideas for a child so young. Behaves in a very mature manner, takes on the responsibility of looking after her home after the death of her mother.
It is good that we are taking up issues like education for the girl child etc, but a child should be made to act like children do - full of fun and mischief. Not burdened with the cooking rotis because her mother is dead, and she has to contend with an aunt who is constantly bullying her and making her do the housework plus work as a servant in the thakurien's house.
I particularly like the look which is realistic in the rustic setting, the characters look very authentic.
Wishing the serial long innings.
