DEVIL IN DISGUISE. Review on Karan Johar

I have always thought that the famous statement ,by Goldwyn Samuel,"pictures are for entertainement ,messages should be delivred by western union",was the ultimate currency of Mr Karan Johar.He, through his 10 years old carreer in the Bollywood industry,he knew the right and the succesful formula for an entertaining movie.With fun drama,decent performance,catchy music, desinged clothes,surreal locations,and above all that a subtile direction,he always managed to make sweet faritales and to gain the acclaim of both the critics and the audiance.People have even surrelevated him to the rank of a star .It's true that his candy floss flicks are far from reality,but we didn't at all mind as long as love wins at the end of the day!For that K3G and KKHH became classics of the B ollywood family drama.But,i,personnally, have witnessed a suspicious shift in his later flicks,though the fact he was only the producer,specially KHNH.Why am I saying suspicious?let me explain;Mr Karan Johar pushed the envelope al ittle bit further,more liberated jocks(remember the gay jockes all over the film,but people enjoyed it because it was meant to be funny???????????), more melodrama, more looking for"realism"(if beeing rich and a NY's citizen is beeing realistic enough for the indian audiance,i'll take that).So the one wonders,is he trying to send messages besides entertaining?.Well I left with no answer for almost four years and a half one, till KANK happened.The publicity of the film suggested that KANK will be everything but certainly not a candyfloss.Mr Karan affirmed that it would be a bold film which deals with serious issues of life,love and marriage."a seriuos shift"i though this time.I truly beleived that Karan Johar will reborn into a realistic movie maker which will set the bar so high that he will give directors like Ram Gopal Varma or Mani Ratnam a serious material to think about.But we all know that it wasn't the case!It was another boring flick,a complete part of the kingdom of boring movies as we have seen by the past and as we will certainly see in the future;some loved it ,some hated it as it's always the case for any film.But it's not the real problem.The real issue here,is a trust issue!.People trusted Mr Karan Johar that he will never give them less than a good entertainement,and for a change,less than good cinema. If Mr Karan was seeking for realism,how he could expose a real subject while all his protagonists looked everything but certainly not real?How he could be serious with a serious topic while he leaded his film with a light note?For sure, he was sending messages,but the wrong ones.Every movie maker has the right to expose his points of view and his own beleives on a subject ,that it's so precious to people such as love and marriage ,but he must be credible or at least to avoid preaching and most of all to respect people.With KANK,Karan Johar has proved one true thing:he can fool people,by his charm,his history,all the hipe that surround his films,to a point that they are able to pay with their hard earned money the ticket for the seat that will lead them down to boredom and cheap cinema.For that only I claim Mr Karan Johar a genious.Mr Karan Johar,all those years ,of good entrtainement, were to acheive one goal ,missleading people and make the fool of them?If yes then you have totally succeded.So you have no respect for your audiance,not even some pity?.You inspired trust but you inspire fair right now beacuse when I see people are still swearing by your name,i get really troubled!You look like an angel,you walk like an angel ,you talk like an angel...but I got why !You are the devil in disguise ! Oh yes, that's what you are, devil in disguise!
