What a farce. Review on Kaminey

It seems that in this country even in the film industry reputation preceeds the product and hence you have every critic worth his salt praising anurag kashyap as if he is some sort of a genius even when he makes piece of garbage like devd.

Same applies to vishal bharadwaj who no doubt has made excellent films like omkara and maqbool and so you have people praising his newest film kaminey but in reality you shouldnt go b y this reviews like I did and waste your precious money and time.

As I did as this film is nothing short of a farce as it has jerky camera work, dark settings which makes it impossible to fathom what is going on, predictable storyline of one good and one bad brother and long and farcical climax where you cant understand a thing and the film is also not helped by indifferent acting, inaudible dialogues and weak screenplay and another problem is that it is many languages like bengali, marathi.

And portuguese without subtitle which makes it hard to understandis saved only by its peppy and enjoyable music well I dont think you can praise this film by saying that it is a dark and intelligent film but omkara also was a dark film but was hundred times enjoyable then this film so dont go by hype and avoid this film

story

the film is a story of two twin brothers one guddu who is a social worker who stammers and another charlie a criminal who lisps who dislike other but faith has other plans and inadvertently they come in each others paths as guddu who is in love with a maharashtrian girl sweety(priyanka) but is tracked down by sunil bhope a maharashtrian politician who hates north indians while charlie accidently runs off with drug carrying guitar of corrupt cops while escaping his enemies and is sought after by don tashi for whom corrupt cops works and rest of the film is about brothers who escape various obstacles and enemies to achieve their respective dreams

performance

charlie and guddu-shahid kapoor is ok and puts up a laborious performance

sweety-priyanka chopra is unconvincing as maharashtrian don

sunil bhope-amol gupte is caricaturish and irritating as sunil bhope
