What is it with big banner, big cast movies these days? All so pointless, haphazard... shot only to show off beautiful locations, sexy heroines and heroes?!! I had expected much from this film but then my friends and well-wishers warned me. So much bad stuff I had heard about the film that now I had to see what the fuss was about.. and it was justified, the fuss I mean.Movie starts of with Riki Thakral and Alvira Khan meeting at the train station. Alvira the proper polished british-born Lahori and Riki the streetsmart "marketing" guy from Bhatinda. While waiting at the station for their respective fiances, they tell each other stories of how they met their love interests.
Riki says he met Anaida at the Ritz in Paris (highly unbelievable) where she was the manager and though they got off on the wrong foot, eventually fell for each other. Alvira met Steve, a hot-shot lawyer at Madame Tussauds where he saves her from a falling superman statue. Alvira started off disliking Riki but then something about his rustic appearance and behaviour wins her over. Anyway after much delay the train with their fiances arrives and they bid adieu exchanging numbers- just in case. If I reveal the plot any further I would give away the ending.Performances by Abhishek and Lara Dutta are good. Priety looks her regular self - no different from any other flick you've seen off-late.
Bobby Deol is not bad but forgettable. The plot seems hotch-potch where half way through the film you are still wondering where its headed. After you find out, you are so disappointed that the time spent getting there seems even more wasted. The music is catchy and very hummable.thats all I can say - really there is absolutely nothing else to the film!!
