Sunil Dutt-Dilip Kumar freeze the screen . Review on Jeena Isika Naam Hai

For the past several years I had ever thought thet how come Sunil Dutt and Dilip Kumar never came together in a film.After all both of them were legends and highly respected and admired men.Both of them are best of friends and both worked for top directors and both could easily fit in any type of role.I was very disappointed to know that there is not a single movie where both of them came together.This left me with a dream of seeing both the titans together in one frame.Fortunately for me the dream was realised when on Friday Zee tv telecasted the first episode on Sunil Dutt in the new version of ''Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai''. The first good thing about the new version was that Suresh Oberoi was OUT and Farooque Sheikh was IN as the host.Farooque was as charming as ever and a respite from a crying-faced OBEROI.Probably Oberoi senior can come back in limelight if he also breaks his leg like his son.Farooque is just soo sweet.The choice of the guest was amazing.Sunil Dutt is an amazing actor,star,producer,director,social worker,member of parliament and a human being.Even farooque said that ''anyone less than Dutt's stature could not do justice to this new series and he also said that he could not think of anyone bigger in stature'At that instant I thought of Dilip Kumar and to my utter surprise Dilip saab was there as a special guest for Dutt saab.I could not imagine my dream coming true.However after a few minutes the electricity went off and I catched up with the show only on its repeat telecast.Although the show belonged to Dutt Sahab still it became an amazing moment for viewers to see Dilip Kumar and Sunil Dutt in the same frame and discussing things.Both of them are over 70(Dilip is 80,Sunil is 72),yet both of them still have not lost an iota of their charisma or charm.The age might be visible on their faces still both of them looked like the most handsome old men of the world. As I watched them I could not help count the amazing similarities in Dutt saahab and Yusuf saab. 1.Both of them were born in modern Pakistan,2.Both of them had to do odd jobs when they landed in Bombay9Dutt sahab worked in BEST bus and Yusuf Saab as a canteen supplier,3.Both of them got married to actresses-Nargis and Saira,4.There was a considerable age-gap in both the marriages.While Dilip Kumar was elder to Saira banu(also present in the show) by around 20 years,Sunil Dutt was younger to Nargis by 4-5 years,4.during the time of marriages both the wifes were supposedly having an affair with another top-star,Nargis with Raj Kapoor and Saira with Rajendra Kumar,5.Although both have many memorable performances yet the roles of dacoits,dilip Kumar in Ganga Jamuna and Sunil Dutt in Mother India and Mujhe Jeene Do got them unparallel love and admiration,6.Both have been active in politics,7.Both have been strong supporters of Congress,8.Both have got into controversy,Dilip for the Nishaan-e-Imtiyaz title and Dutt for his son Sanjay's activities,9.Both launched their younger brothers succesfully but the brothers failed to make a mark(Nasir Khan in Ganga Jamuna and Som Dutt in Man ka Meet),10.Both stopped playing the normal hero after their age and did elder age roles instead of degrading themselves,11.Both made a mark even in women oriented blockbusters(Dilip Kumar in Jogan,Babul and Madhumati.Sunil Dutt in Mother India,Sujata and Mera Saaya),12.Both of them gave superhits for south Indian banners(Dilip Kumar did Insaniyat,Paigham,Ram Aur Shyam and Gopi.Sunil Dutt did Beti Bete,Bhai Bahen and Milan) and 13.Both of them have been actively involved in social work(although Dutt saahab takes the cake in this respect,yet Yusuf saahab is not far behind).Needless to say the popularity and respect of these legends is not restricted to their movies,it is their entire persona which made them the magnificient men they are. It was nice to see Dilip Kumar telling about how he liked Dutt's movies like Yaadein and Reshma Aur Shera.the presence of Saira Banu provided Dutt and Saira to talk about the classic Padosan in which both of them acted.

Sunil dutt spoke very freely about his struggling days in Bombay and he even said that at that time he had just 2 pairs of Kurta-pyjamas to wear.He then jokingly add that he came dressed in a suit for the show so that people may know that now he is better off.Dilip Kumar although not being in the best of health came as he and saira said that it is always a pleasure for doing anything towards Dutt saab.the bond which both the family share was very much visible and it shows that there are still good people in this country.Sunil Dutt and Dilip Kumar holded each others hand for quite a while as they discussed some old momentsleaving the host Farooque sheikh totally star-struck.Saira Banu said that their entire family was very close to Dutt's.Sanjay Dutt also gave a rare small appearence.he tells about the HITLER directorSunil Dutt was on the sets of Rocky.After few minutes Dutt junior disappear somewhere and does not come back.Also present in the show were Dutt's younger sister and brother-Som Dutt.teh show showed some rare photographs and video coverage featuring various chapters of Dutt's life.

I was more or less contended now that my dream of these 2 pillars coming together was realised.The people realised that one episode was not enough for Sunil Dutt so there will be another episode whivh will also include Waheeda Rahman and Amin Sayani(India's most popular radio star EVER) in the second episode.

It was a gem of an episode and the second part will be telecasted this friday at 9 pm (Indian Standard Time) on 12th septemberon Zee tv. I am WAITING for that.PLEASE DO NOT MISS IT.
