If you are interested in reading about East Asian history or international politics- then this book is a must read for you. This is a collector’s edition.
Brought forward to me by a friend from JNU, I was intrigued by the theme of the book and went through it abruptly.
Ethnic cleansing through killing and murder has been there in many countries. During both the world wars, we could see atrocities upon different human races by the others. In the book, Peter Li highlights on the atrocities meted out by the Japanese Imperial Army upon the Asian and a few Western nations during and after the Asia Pacific War was over.
He explains in vivid imagery how the people were made victims and were given both physical and psychological wounds by the Armymen. This book is a wonderful record and analysis of those times. Read it to feel those years, the drama, the terror.
