Produced and Directed by Raj Kumar Kohli ‘Jaani Dushman’ has music by Anand Raaj Anand and Sandeep Chowta and lyrics by Sameer and Dev Kohli.

The album has 8 tracks in all, of which only some are woth a sunoh. Side A begins with ‘Aaja Aaja’ by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik and has music by Anand Raaj Anand. The music director seems to have made a straight lift of an aalap ‘Aaja Aaja’ from the film ‘Anurodh’ of ‘Mere Dil Ne tadap Ke’ fame of yester years. But the song has been cleverly pushed to another end that is totally new. The rendition is as usual and music is slow. Not much to say here.

Second track ‘Chal Kudiye’ by Sonu Nigam and Jaspinder Narula beginds with a hi-fi beat synchronization. It has a mixture of the Tabla, the Dhol, the Bongo, the Congo and simultaneously some techno beats from electronic equipment. This is soon followed by piano notations and traditional Punjabi folk music. The music is creative and different, but the lyrics are sloppy. Third track ‘Roop Salona Tera dekh Ke’ by Sonu Nigam, Harry Anand, Sanchaita, Purnima, Pamela Jain, Devendra Singh and Narayan Rathod is already a hit among masses. It has a thriller kind of opening with safe notations from the music director. Although Anand has tried to experiment with this love song, he has failed to create a lasting impression. But the song can be called the album’s trump card.

Fourth track ‘Zindagi Main Tujpe’ by Udit Narayan has a haunting start with the same ‘Aaja Aaja’ alaap that has been lifted from the film ‘Anurodh. It’s a slow number with sloppy lyrics making it a shoddy affair.

Side B begins with ‘Javed Bhai So Re Le’ by Sonu Nigam. An archetypal tapopri item number that will ring a cord of acceptance among youngsters. It’s got all the essentials of rap, pop, dance, rock and hoards of attitude as craved by today’s youth. Definitely the album’s best bet so far. The lyrics are creative and the music is well composed by Sandeep Chowta.

Second track ‘Jaaneman Tu Khoob Hai’ by Sonu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan has music that tends to go towards the western techno style. It begins on a soft note but soon develops into a high tempo dance item number. Sunidhi’s voice is as good as magic on this number that again seems tailormade for her to render. She does a good job and rakes in maximum attention. Music by AR Anand is creative but lyrics are strictly okay. Third song ‘Ishq Junu Hai’ by Udit Narayan, Alka Narayan and Porashant opens with typical Carnatic aalap and folkish notations. The subject of the song is not very new to hiondi cinema, but manages to keep onself hooked. Prashant has done complkete justicein rendering this track that makes it all the more worthwhile. Music by Anand Milind seems to be an inspired assortment from hits of yester years.

Fourth track ‘ Zindagi Mein Tujpe’ by Alka Yagnik is the same as the song with the same name on side A…Just that this time, it’s a female version that does no good to the album other than occupying some tape space. Not impressive enough. Overall, A passé album, that may or may not appeal to music lovers…but will surely add on to Bollywodd’s huge music storage.
