IMT started in 1980 in Ghaziabad,a town near Delhi in UP(25 km from Delhi approx)...The institute has its own 17 acre campus complete with Hostel...Computer labs...Library...Mess...Conference halls and other facilities.
The faculty comprises of distinguished academicians and industry leaders...Senior professionals from organisations like Sriram,Bharti,Tatas,IFCI,ITC etc teach here...the exposure which students get from lectures by these industry professionals help them to take on challenging roles after they pass out...The Director of the institute is Mr Ashok Ghosh who has held senior positions in the industry prior to IMT(He was with RPG group and with UN)
