Worst experience with Indigo airlines

We would like to share our disappointing experience which we had with Indigo airlines. We had booked 3 tickets for a couple and infant (just two months old), in Indigo Airlines for travel from Delhi to Bangalore. On the day of travel, we came down to Delhi from our home town which is around 300 km away from Delhi airport.


But we were badly stuck in traffic jam in New Delhi. On the way, we called Indigo airlines airport office several times. We appraised them about our adverse situation and requested them to accommodate us in the best possible way. Over the phone, they assured us that they will convey our message to the Indigo boarding counter and assured us for best possible help.


We reached airport just about time and requested airline personnel to accommodate us in the flight 6E277. We were told that the flight had not yet taken off, but the boarding counter has been closed about 8-10 min back. We were disappointed to know that boarding counter personnel had not received any information regarding our exigency. Since we were carrying a one and half month old baby, we pleaded to airline staff including duty manager to accommodate us either in current flight or in next available Indigo flight to Bangalore. We also offered to pay due penal charges in lieu of no show. However, airline staff expressed their complete helplessness in this regard and advised us to buy new tickets on then existing prices. They did not empathise to us and offered no support.


Seeing our small baby suffering, we had to rush and book tickets in next possible flight with other airlines on sky high prices. This unplanned expenditure has impacted our financial budget for the next couple of months.


Considering the facts that


-- the circumstances were beyond our control,


-- we had informed airline staff asap


-- and finally, we had to spend exorbitant amount to buy another set of tickets,


We expected cooperation and support from Indigo airlines to minimize our loss. We constantly followed up with airlines customer care centre, but to our great disappointment there was no sympathy shown by the staff of Indigo airlines, either at the ticket counter or at the customer care centre. After couple of mail follow ups, they stopped reverting to our emails.


Conslusion:- We have decided not to travel with Indigo in future.
