I flew indigo yesterday form Delhi to Mumbai @2040 I checked in well in time @ 1930 and was waiting passing my time and kept on looking at the flight board for boarding instructions as I was told the boarding time is 2000 hrs while listening to music, I went to boarding gate @ 2010 to be told that they will board shortly after 10 min I see an update on the board that flight is delayed till 2210, when I asked again they said they have been announcing on the speaker for 10 min.


when I asked why not tell me when I came to the gate to which no response I asked why is it not updated on the board, I was told it is not our responsibility, for delaying the flight 2 hours without prior information indigo is not responsible and the worst is that they do not apologize for the delay but get aggressive and reply that it is not our fault their is a technical fault hence the delay (I am confused by this statement as to how is it not INDIGO's Fault? it is their plane, their staff flying & maintaining the aircraft how is it not INDIGO's fault?


At this point I request them that as the flight is delayed can you please take my pre booked meal coupon and arrange for a meal @ the airport to which they flatly refuse saying it is against company policy and the meal will only be served on board, I said but it is dinner time now and I want to eat now they say we will not be able to do anything you will be only served a meal on the plane (which if I would have waited would have been approx 2315 hrs) so instead of banging my head with the staff I went up and had my dinner and promptly reported to the boarding gate on time and waited to talk to the manager (Mr Varun Sangar).


I am sorry to report that I have not met a more deplorable  man in the history of my travel and interaction with various service and hospitality personnel. When I asked him that please give me refund of the meal on board as I will not be taking it, I was told very rudely by him that you send a mail to xyz ID and they will refund I implored him saying that it is Indgo's fault so why should I follow up ? to which he replied with anger and attitude "that is the company policy" (so if I understand correctly " the company policy is screw up delay the flight and act arrogant and aggressive with the customers") to which I said that the airline is going down and it is becoming worse every passing day, to which I get a threat from Mr. Varun saying that you better not talk this way and when I said I will lodge a complaint about the airlines I get a bigger threat what will you do I will log a complaint about you and will finish you!!!!!


Is this how you reply to and treat a customer? Rajeev_Vermacially after delaying a flight for over 2 hours.


I have flown indigo numerous times in the past (i would say about 50 time in the past 4 years  since the airline started)  I had moved from jet as I felt jet was getting complacent and was not treating the flyers in the right way( I must say it was never even 1/10th as bad as Indigo has become) I enjoyed flying indigo for 4 years and saw a lot of attitude crawl into the staff for since the last 6 months ( I would have flown at least 4 -5 times in the last 6 months) I used to love their refreshing and customer friendly attitude but alas it was too good to last.


the last encounter has been the final straw far me and for sure indigo will not get any business from me in the future ( would mean about 300 trips in a year as I will ensure no one from my family and company will travel in the airline again)


i guess the airline should take a cue and work on this as I met a lot of passengers at the airport who were disgusted with the attitude including some defense personnel ( I find it disgusting that the airlines cant treat the people who protect the nation with rRajeev_Vermact) I wish them all the best with the new attitude ( I hope they understand soon enough for their own good that money is not everything and the governing factor, rRajeev_Vermact is also essential Rajeev_Vermacially in the service industry)
