Congratulations to our Hockey team for finishing a greusome and absolutely embarassing 10th place. These are the same teams whom we used to beat by large margins and come home with World Cups. What a shame! But who to blame? The team? Or Cedric? Or Gill? Or ourselves? In reality, sports has no place in India. Or should I say, sports other than cricket has no place in India. Today cricketers are earning huge amounts. This may have compelled several of our Hockey players to take up cricket. The leftovers are struggling with the stick.
What is needed is a foreign coach, a foreign physio, a foreign advisor, and if possible, a foreign team. Ah! Just Kidding. They should tap players when they are young and give them good training. Then only we could hope to win a world cup, or atleast come second, or even third, or maybe fourth....
