Losing interest in cricket.
Dec 23, 2022 07:30 PM 902 Views (via Mobile)

Greetings dear ones,

It's been years since I have been following India cricket and had the best of times to make them so memorable, that i just don't want to miss a match. Starting from Kapil Dev's era which was brilliant and hard working to Azharuddin leading the team into fearlessness then Ganguly leading to a great aggressive cricketing side and finally to MS Dhoni, who just changed the face of Indian cricket as well international cricket's approach and mindset towards this great sport.

In all of these eras we have encountered real greats of the game, never to miss our God of cricket Mr. Sachin Tendulkar who set the benchmark of greatness in the new era of the game. We found a great asset and a game changer in the form of Virat Kohli, who whether anyone likes it or not , with sheer strength of his attitude through his fitness and real hunger for wins has already proven everyone, that he can somewhat match the greats of Sachin and Bradman. When he was captaining the India side it was always evidently visible that not only his personal success, rather the go forth attitude to excel for the team and put the team on top in every format of the game was topmost priority. Ravi Shastri and Virat had a great bonding only for the sake of winning games and making India the top side.

Suddenly there was politics which is very well known to ruin everything it touches. It ruined a great bond, a great sports person, sheer hunger to win games and put the team on the top spot, bad decisions, less opportunities for budding cricketers, selfish motives and of course too much of shuffling the team just for the heck of experiments eventually causing real setbacks in seriously important junctures.

There is sheer respect for Rahul Dravid only as a great player of course being known as the great wall but never as a coach. It's ok to experiment but if it's not fruiting for the welfare of the entire team including subs as well the interest of the nation, then the coach should be benched or simply changed.

We want the team to win, we have the highest number of players being recruited in the international side, we have the best talent shop, we have great players who can win anywhere anytime or atleast show real fight even if so to lose with grace.

We have lost that greatness that attitude and of course interest, our 'wall' is not made up of with the right substance and is extremely mellow for sheer greatness in a collective effort which requires aggressiveness and sheer dominating minds with great ability for tactics.

We have seen in the past the great domination of cricketing world by Australia in a time when there existed true greats of the game. They just knew how to win, with a great coach, great captain, great team and great collective team spirit they have won 5 world cups, and even to this date they are the topmost side in all the formats.

I'm writing this with a lot of heaviness in my heart that i dont feel like watching cricket anymore, everything seems fake, there is too much of politics and money that has corrupted the game, the players, the teams, the coaches, the attitude of winning or atleast possessing ruthless threat to other teams has all gone off the roof.

It was way better to see that Ravi-Virat bonding, even if it involved whatever negative impact that people thought of the attitude thrown, atleast we were winning, we had a solid team with less experiments and far more less setbacks than what we are encountering in todays time.

Stop giving opportunities to players if they are not performing at an international level whether who ever it is. Send them back to the nets or ranji wherever , they must realise they are performing for the country like soldiers on a battlefield and they must attain the attitude to instill fear in their opponents.

If the same route of uncaring, irresponsible attitude through politics or money or selfishness or fame is carried out, then it is useless to watch cricket anymore and I'm going to influence each where ever I be and disrespect this fake gentleman's game and encourage everyone around me to do the same.

Though this fraternity has come a long way and has already duped people of false hopes, and created a vicious cycle of influence, one should realise that politics may be everywhere, but sheer performance is through the right attitude to win.

Being just one person active at a time the game is too overrated and hyped. Whereas if you see a sport like soccer, you will see true emotions coming out of fans not only for the country, but for each player, be that person in the arena or at the bench everyone is just engrossed into the sport.

Cricket lacks that big time and supports only money powered. Talent can be seen sold naked on the streets with no future.

Kindly rejuvenate the sport, let there be class, let it be free from all those hindrances which makes it impure, let it excel in passion, let there be real joy.
