I recently had the awful opportunity to interact with IIFL Real Estate "Advisors".
I was looking to buy a property in Chennai - and they had a property listed for sale. They were charging 2% from me the buyer.(assume they would charge another 2% from the seller also).
Despite getting a~4% fee from the transaction, when I requested them to arrange for a site visit, they refused to do so. They said they dont arrange site visits.
They were calling themselves Advisors. So I told them that since they dont arrange site visits, they should not call themselves real estate advisors, but call themselves real estate brokers(actually could be an affront to brokers as well, as now days, many brokers arrange site visits as well). And they were not giving any "advice" - just showing the property.
When I told them this, Mr Churchill from their Chennai office said they didn't want to show the property to me. Anyways I also didnt want to do any business with them.
It was pathetic company, providing useless service.
