When I rest my head on the ground of my motherland, I feel that it wants to hug me. The land has so much love to give. It feels like a mother's lap; caring and protecting. The smell of the soil runs through my soul, and purifies my whole body.

But then I here a squeak, as if my mother is crying. She seems to be wounded and is bleeding. She is slain with the blood of its children. They are killing each other, slitting throats, in the name of religion and humanity. The land just asks, ''Will the blood of my innocent children quench the thirst of religious tolerance? Will this bring food to the needy, and clothes for the poor? Will this make me proud?'' The answer is a big NO to all these questions.

My land just weeps in silence. No one is there to heal her wounds. She tore up her chest to give food to her children. She was cut into pieces, just to see her children happy with their piece. She was battered and slain. She was insulted by her very own people. But then too, she is silent.

But her silence does not mean she is weak. This land of patience and courage do avenges her insult. With the help of the enormous power of nature, she teaches her children a lesson. My motherland loves us, but she also do not forget to punish us for our grave mistakes.

My motherland is the most beautiful in the world. When I look out of my window, I see the beautiful trees, the birds and the animals. How peacefully they live together. By seeing this all, I say, this is life. It is bigger than any religion. This is what I call true beauty. Everything has a purpose here. Nothing is a waste. The land is just complete in all sense.

But my land is not getting justice by the world. She is still referred as the Land of the Monkeys. Her children are still called by slangs like Coolie. We are glorified by our own people as a poor nation. Some photographers come in and take picture of our clothless children, dying with diseases. They do it just to earn some bucks and present India abroad as a dying nation. But they forget that India is growing. My land was prosperous, and it is, and will be. We have given so much to the world, and never asked for any returns.

Recently, I received an E-mail from my friend, which tells more about India's contribution to the world. I would like to share it with you, so that you will be proud of our nation than ever.
