P.S. This review is in context of how India played in the TVS CUP FINAL................and a general view on Indian cricket team.
INDIAN TEAM gifted the TVS CUP to the AUSSIES at EDEN'S GARDEN in CALCUTTA.........................India was in no position to loose,it was a game which they could have easily won had they used their brains and applied themselves better.235 is a gettable target.................but Indian team can make even a small run chase see\look difficult coz they put so much pressure on their own-self.I think the Indian bowlers did a reasonably good job by restricting the AUSSIES to 235.............though had LAXMAN and DRAVID not missed a few catches and Stumping chance,we could have bowled them out for 200.But the batting was a disaster.Why on earth is SEHWAG in the team when he still hasn't learnt to value his wicket?SACHIN,LAxman,rahul AND badani MADE VALUABLE CONTRIBUTION...........BUT DID ANYONE SEE how casually most of them got out?YUVRAJ and company were not in the mood of playing at all...........and about the tail-enders the less said the btter.A TEAM which cannot chase a run score of 235...........on INDIAN SOIL,against a not so special AUSSIE ATTACK..............is misfit to play in WORLD CRICKET!
Every time our SO-CALLED-HEROES come to play on field..............i pray to god and sit infront of my TV SET with excitemnt and hope thay my team will be better than the best today...........but everytime I get up dissapointed with tears in my eyes.I think our INDIAN TEAM does not share the passion of the millions of INDIAN,who go to the stadiums and sit glued to the TV SET that their heroes will make their day,but it is not to be.....................nobody expects that INDIA will win everytime they go to play but atleast they can put a valiant effort on the field while batting,fielding and bowling..................or even that is very difficult for them.
The question that comes to my mind everytime I watch my team play is................that are we expecting too much out of a team whose top most priority is MONEY?They have been playing with the emotions of the people for long and will continue to do so...................coz they are treated like gods here and they know that even if they'll keep on loosing the match we'll still support them no matter what.INDIAN TEAM is way to over-rated..................they do not deserve the praise,success,fame and money that they get,if they cannot even put in a honest effort.Just by saying that AUSTRALIA is a better team than us................so we lost the match is no excuse.Accept the fact that you neither have the talent nor the attitude to be like them................you are not willing to put in as much efforts as they put.
Why doesn't our team learn from the AUSTRALIAN TEAM................they are so proffesional,dedicated,commited................they give their best shot every time they go out to play.They are not dependant on a few big\senior players..........neither you'll see them mis-fielding or dropping catches.AUSTRALIAN team is really very good.............and every time I watch them play,i wish that even if INDIAN team could have half of what they have..................we would not loose so frequently.
I think we should stop giving so much importance to our team...............only then will they learn their lessons,they should also know and realise that they are their in the team to play and give their best shot,they should be thankful to god that they got an oppurtunity to represent their country................so its their duty to play well and respect and value their position in the team.And if they cannot................they have no right to be in the team.
I really shudder to think how our ''bunch of chokers''going to perform in AUSTRALIA..........against the best Australian pace attack comprising of LEE,MCGRATH and GILLEPIE?I think Indian team should not go to Australia..............and instead go to BANGLADESH,coz their they will have the oppurtunity to be demi-gods again,all our players will make loads of run against the poor bangladeshi attack and show all the desi junta here what they are capable of................how much talent they have! Our team is capable of performing well only against minor teams lik KENYA,HOLLAND,BANGLADESH,NETHERLANDS............most of them have their best performance against these teams.JOKES APART..............its high time INDIA performs well over-seas,their over-seas record is disasterous...............and I can only hope and wish,as always that INDIA will play well their and win atleast some appreciation amongst the Indian contengant their and ofcourse here in INDIA.
