I had incredimail at one time. I also use zone alarm personal firewall. I was called away from the pc and using ZA I stopped all internet activity. When I returned I discoverd incredimail had been attempting to connect to the internet on a non-standard port. Got rid of it! I don't remember if there were any problems associated with removing the program or not.
This being my first post I attempted to be succinct.
The post failed due to shortness so I have added some opinion on what I now use as my email client.
I have discovered that I prefer the ''less is better'' approach.

https://ii.com - for excellent information on configuring - using and getting the most out of it.
Pine is text only. No cute animations, backgrounds, stationary or other addons. It is not vulnerable to the viruses and worms that go after Outlook and Outlook Express. Because it is not associated with the OE address book all of my contacts are not forwarded a complimentary copy of any viri that happen to get onto my computer.
