We left for Igatpuri by Tapovan on Friday morning and reached there by 9 am. After lot of research on various sites I opted for Ganaka Valley view which is bang next to Manas on the NH as it is a budget hotel. There is not much option for hotels here.Mystic Spa's reviews were not good, Ashwin is in the city, Manas too costly, Meghdhanush in interior but not a scenic location. The place is a chilled out monsoon getaway for mumbaikars with breathtaking mountain and valley views, numerous waterfalls and greenery everywhere. We walked through the sailing clouds which engulfed the hills every now and then. Ganaka has clean rooms and bathrooms and the view of the bridge across the valley. But avoid this hotel as it has beds made with ply placed on iron rods which creaks a lot. They do not have generator back-up and you would be locked in your room without any TV or charged mobile. They do not have a 24 hrs pantry.
On the first day we got a delicious breakfast and dinner but the same could not be provided on the second day because the manager was absent. They could not provide us contact nos. of any other hotel so that we can order the same from outside nor were they willing to go themselves and bring the food. In the pouring rains we had our B/F in adhaba opposite and tried Golden REsort for lunch. GoldenResort would be a best place for a family with their meals included package which is run by a punjabi owner.
It is located just at the foot of two mountains and you need not venture far for enjoying waterfalls. Morevoer it has allitems for kids including swimming pool. Two days are sufficientfor relaxing as well as half day sightseeing. The Vipassana Centre is a marvel.
