Story:

“Her pace was brisk as she walked on the east of Chestnut Street towards the bank, and it was all she could do to keep from singing aloud. She wore a bright- yellow raincoat, boots, and a yellow rain hat that barely contained a mass of shining chestnut hair. She was in her mid twenties, with a lively intelligent face, a full sensuous mouth, sparkling eyes that could change from a soft moss green to a dark jade in moments and a trim athletic figure. Her skin ran the gamut from a translucent white to a deep rose, depending on whether she was angry, tired , or excited.

Her mother had once told her,” Honestly child sometimes I don’t recognize you. You’ve got all the colours of the wind in you”

Now Tracy walked down the street, people turned to smile, envying the happiness that shone on her face. She smiled back at them.

It’s indecent for anyone to be this happy, “ Tracy Whitney thought.

May be that is exactly what the Almighty thought too, for there ended Tracy’s happiness. Tracy, the lovely and idealistic heroine of Sidney Sheldon’s Novel ”If Tomorrow Comes” watches helplessly as the world around her crumbles for her beloved mother (the only one she can call her own in the world) commits suicide.

Tracy in all her innocence tries to get a confession from the man behind her mother’s death threatening him with a gun. But as fate would have it She finds herself accused for attempted murder and theft and thereon every step of hers is a valuable lesson for her. She learns how not to trust everybody and her encounters with aggressive and blood thirsty creatures in jail teaches her to gain the trust of a few (not all) notorious people who might be of help in the future. And the most important lesson she learns “SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST”.

But ofcourse her truthful heart is what saves her from jail albeit she spends quite a number of years there.

Then begins the most interesting part of the novel.

The way she takes revenge on all those who ditched her is something to be relished.

Circumstances turn her into a con artist after which life is bliss. She leads an exciting life very different from the innocent life she lead before. She works with feverish anxiety to be the best in the trade and to outsmart her rival Jeff (another interesting and romantic character in the novel. Psst:! between us….I fell in love with this guy.)

Her work as a con artist is worth reading a million times. Believe me I must have read the book a number of times and still it has never been boring.

Let me wax eloquent on Sidney Sheldon’s style of writing.

The man has a wild imagination. Hats off to him for that. Almost all of his novels are a masterpiece. Be it a political conspiracy or murder or tricking people or a psychological thriller, Sheldon excels in them. Almost all his novels have a female playing the lead role. This particular edition of his is simply amazing. Be it the style or be it the essence of the novel, its just great. If you are a regular reader of his works then perhaps you will find a similarity in his style and plot and may actually make a good guess on the climax nevertheless the excitement is still there.

Time we had a glimpse at the brain behind these blockbusters

Sidney Sheldon's remarkable career as a novelist began when he was 50 years old, after he had already been a success in film and television. Perhaps it was his sensibility for screen entertainment that made him so readily able to produce his addictive novels of love and suspense.

Best known today for his exciting blockbuster novels, Sidney Sheldon is the author of The Best Laid Plans, Nothing Lasts Forever, The Stars Shine Down, The Doomsday Conspiracy, Memories of Midnight, The Sands of Time, Windmills of the Gods, If Tomorrow Comes, Master of the Game, Rage of Angels, Bloodline, A Stranger in the Mirror, and The Other Side of Midnight. Almost all have been number-one international bestsellers. His first book, The Naked Face, was acclaimed by the New York Times as ''the best first mystery of the year'' and received an Edgar Award. Most of his novels have become major feature films or TV miniseries, and there are more than 275 million copies of his books in print throughout the world.

And if you are looking for pure entertainment then what are waiting for. Hurry! Grab a copy, get glued to the book and enjoy. If I sound like an advertiser then that’s exactly what Iam doing. Advertising.

Because its worth it!

Here is where I got my enlightenment on Sidney the Sheldon, er…I mean Sidney Sheldon.
