Hey,
During Tech-Boom era I was swept into buying lots of Tech-Heavy mutual funds. I got IPO of PruICICI tech at 10/-.
Since then, as Tech fell, PrucICICI Tech fund failed miserably. Tech has recovered a bit. But PruICICI Tech has not recovered at all. Its peer funds such as Birla IT and Pioneer are doing much much better. I tried averaging on PrucICICI but all failed. It has not moved from its 3/- position for long. In its brochure they compare it with some stupid min index.. They should compare it with other IT funds and then the picture will be clear.
My advice will be to compare performances with peers before buying a fund.
