I purchased, ICICI Prue Life Gold in 2007. I was supposed to pay for 5 years, I have completed that period in 2012. Since, this scheme was not giving much appreciation and is connected to markets, I thought I should not invest any more in that. Unfortunately, I have kept auto pay facility on that. I have given, my credit card. I forgot that.
Though, I was not willing to pay when the markets are in peak(as I was alloted less units), but the system started deducting. It happened twice. But, this time I visited their office in shimla, and filled up a proforma for removing auto pay facility, after 2 to 3 days, I got a message, that the auto pay is not activated for this year, and I was forced to block my credit card. Unfortunately, I thought I will change the auto pay to my debit card and will not keep the balance in that. But, to my surprise, some FD got matured and got credited into my account, and though the auto debit date was 11th Feb, they were waiting to deduct and today they deducted 50k from my account. They are bent upon to deduct from your account. I dont understand why they require 15 days for removing the auto debit faciltiy, when every thing is computerised. I am fed up with us ICICI Pru and I intend to close it premature, when the stock markets are normalised(now they are in low) 2 learning from this
1. **Dont invest in these schemes as they deduct good amount of your investment as fund management charges, which is not high lighted
2. Dont put any auto debit to your accounts/credit car
3. If you have liquidate it partly also they take lot of time.*
