I personally suggest please do not go for ICICI Lombard housing Insurance. I have taken a housing loan from ICICI bank and at the same got my house Insured with ICICI Lombard this was 3years back. Everyone would agree how we are trapped by ICICI housing loan...heights of foolishness.
Recently a month back, there was a burglary at my place and we have lost our Lap top. We thought atleast one good thing we have done is getting home insured......but only our experience says again we were fools to get home insured through ICICI Lombard....
Its been more than a month we have registered a complaint with ICICI Lombard....there is no response from them towards our claim.....when I went to a local police station to file an FIR, was dejected by the police department.....they literally harass you till you pay them bribe to file an FIR. I was feeling really shameful being a citizen I have to face the situation.....
To my surprise ICICI Lombard which is a private institution is no less....you feel more cheated, as we have paid a lot of money to get your home insured and when it comes to claiming the insurance they show there real colours by ignoring your claim.
To register a complaint we have to call the Call centre and they are dumbest of the lot appointed who have to be told the whole case every time you call them!!!!! One would say we have registered your complaint and when you give a call the next day to know the status they would say your home is insured only for natural calamity and not for Burglary....and when I literally shout on the top of my voice and give them again my policy details, they come up with saying sorry for inconvenience and they would update in next 48hrs...and this is going on from past one month....What ever they have written on the net is' BAKWASS' they don’t abide by what they say.
It’s been more than a month 'NO Surveyor' has come to my place........and even after continuous follow-up I doubt I would get my claim settled soon. Think there strategy is only to make customer frustrated and give up following up on them to settle the amount. My only hope is now going to ‘Consumer COURT” wish me luck guys!!!!
