One of my worst exp while doing an online purchase. Recently I tried purchase my car insurance through ICICI Lombard website. They gave me attractive offers to renewal and I decided to go for it. I filled in all my car details and done my payment for INR 18190/- and the same was debited from account. But to my surprise I got an error message stating this page is under construction.


Then I though this may be a technical error and I re submitted my details and to my surprise the premium amount was reduced to INR 15711/- and I made that payment thinking I am the lucky today. to again the amount was deducted from the account and the website showed an message that this page is under construction.


I checked my email for any email communication from ICICI regarding my policy. I got 3 email.


1st mail stated your quote has been saved and the ref number is Q-61245581


2nd mail stated your quote has been saved and the ref number is Q-61244864


3rd Mail stated your quote has been saved and the ref number is Q-61245613


I got confused, I know about me entering twice my vehicle details, but from where did the 3rd mail come from?. I called up to the customer care and informed about this and the person told me that she will raise a request and I will get an call back.


Very next day I got a call from the customer care and the lady stated that my personal protection insurance has been courried to my mailing address. I told her about my concerns regarding my deduction and asked for refund. also checked with her for the premium amount for which the insurance has been processed. To my surprise the amount mentioned by her was INR 16251/-. I was puzzle, I informed her that I had never paid this amount to ICICI Lamboard.


She would not give me a correct details about this payment and even she raised an request. 9th Aug'17(After 8days), I visited the branched and explained the person there about this entire episode and even he could not give me any clarity on this transaction. to be frank, I still dont know what is this 16251/- come from and what happened to my earlier deductions.


But today 10th Aug'17 I got a call from CC and they said we are sharing you the soft copy of the insurance which I got through email. But the details I entered in the website(I had taken an photo of the same in my mobile) and the copy I received is not matching. I call and informed the CC but no one bother to listen.


Now they had asked me to share the soft copy of my bank statement to them which I did. and till date I have not received my debited amount back and I have no clarity what is the amount that they are going to deposit back.


I can provide all the proofs if any one from the company are interested to visit my place and ready to give me proper clarity on the entire transaction. No more discussion on calls.


I totally lost hope with this company. I am not saying no for this company, but my experience with them has made me think twice before I recommend them to any one.
