Though I have two Credit cards, I thought I could apply for the ICICI Air deccan card as I fly through them frequnlty and I could use the points earned for some nice rewards.
i went to icicibank.com website and applied for the card. Chose the right link. After 7 days one "executive" comes to meet me. He fills up the form and I tick all the options including Air deccan card.
After 2 weeks, I get my ICICI card. and I open the packet only to find an "ICICI Trethranet Card". I hadnt heard of this Trethranet shopping and I did not know what to do with it !! I rang up the customer service and now I am waiting for my air deccan card.
I had applied for a photo card , but the trethra card did not come with my photo. It was a complete and pathetic goof-up by ICICI bank. I never expected such a poor service from them. All this even before a card is delivered.

Before leaving everything to the "executive".
Take a photocopy of your application. This will be useful in resolving disputes.
Always keep names of the "bank customer care" ppl who call before making an appointment
In case you have a voice recording phone, do record all conversations.
I plan to do all the above in my next communication with any bank.

Wow! ICICI customer service calls me up and lets me know that he had read this and now plans to take action. I hope I get the Air Deccan Card that I had initially ordered for!
After some googling I came to know that thetranet (whatever is the spelling) is some market based in hyderabad. They dont have a website yet!

I have decided not to go ahead with ICICI card as my current card holders have told me that they can provide the same benefits :=).
But I must confess that I did not expect such a goof up from ICICI bank. I think they should not take customers for granted and look into the application form before processing rather than issuing cobranded cards for which they have poor response.
