After I sold my Santro I was again looking for a compact car for my wife, but something new this time. Though the Santro was a good car but somewhere lacked the fuel efficiency in city conditions which plays quite an important role in this segment. Last friday, on a survey to buy a new car, I started with Maruti Zen Estilo. The car lacked inside space terribly and can closely compare the looks to Wagon R which somehow didn't appeal to me. Then visited Chevrolet for Spark & Aveo UVA but they lack proper service backup and the spare parts are costlier to its competitors. Also somehow the GM brand doesnt seem to be reliable to me. Finally after gaining the satisfaction of surveying the market, I landed the Hyundai Showroom for the brand new i10.Being a proud owner of Hyundai Verna I could trust the dealer & the brand ofcourse. 4 years sureshot.... no maintenance.
The car looked compact but with a better leg room as compared to Santro. The exterior looks also gave a fresh appeal and especially girls can't stop wooing on it. I sat with the dealer for its tech. specifications. Its has a 1.1 Litre 16 valve engine powered by irde technology with a 32 bit microprocessor ensuring a better pickup and milage as compared to Santro. The seating is quite comfortable and the interiors are quite good. The best part is for the driver as the gears are placed at a little more height making the gear shifting more comfortable. The car has been placed perfectly between Santro & Getz but its top end model's price of INR 5.34 Lakhs on road in Hyderabad seems to be overpriced. The fully loaded model, Magna is at INR 4.53 Lakhs which I advice. It comes with electronic power steering, 4 door power windows & central locking. In that price, I wish they could have added some more accessories in that price like leather seat covers & a stereo.
After a long test drive to confirm the mileage which was almost 13 Km/l by the demo car, I booked the vehicle for my wife as the birthday gift. To wrap it up.......
PROS :
Fresh & Compact looks, Latest technology, Fuel efficient claimimg milage of about 14-15 km/l in city conditions.
CONS :
Lesser boot space, seems slightly overpriced.
WHO SHOULD NOT BUY
1) Who looks for outstation travelling with luggage
2) Price conscious who look value for money.
REST EVERYONE ELSE CAN FREAK OUT ON THIS CAR..................
