Worst Technology i have ever noticed . Review on Hyundai Santro

I bought a brand new santro gls 1.1 litre. The dream of buying my first car came into existence on 22nd october, 2009. They never gave me a offer of 1000 rupees also, instead took me a family photo on that day. When maruti offers lots of car accessories with that good mileage, hyundai fails to. Not even the car audio systems were provided 4.04 lakhs.

I got the vehicle for the purpose of good mileage. Petrol cost 52.6 rupees/litre. Anyway i was afforded to spend the money to get a comfort car with remarkable mileage. The car dealer said 13 kms in city, 17 kms in highways. The drive was very much comfort & awesome. A/c was good enough at evening & night time, but not a better performing at day time. The mileage given by my car was hardly 8 - 10 with a/c in city.. In highways it will give me 11 - 12 kms/litre with a/c. . No value for money. Pathetic is a small word for santro. I checked the mileage more than 6 to 7 times. It gave me the same result. My dad had m800, esteem, which gave 12 - 14 km in city which was 10 years old.

Moreover complaints r not resolved at months together even if lodged to their higher personnel your mail is answered by auto generated mail which has phone number of incompetent officers who r never at seat their call centre for attending complaints do not lodge complaints. I complaint this during my first service, they said they will tune up & give. But it was not resolved. Things continued. I gave my car for second service. The mileage was hardly 9 km/litre in city. My friend who is working in hyundai was not given any offer. He himself said the car has lots of engine problem & the design is not that good for mileage. The same thing happened to his santro, which he complained in his company higher officials, which they refused to hear this matter.

Now i have sold my car for just 3.35 lakhs with just 5700 kms run. I have almost spend rs 25000 fuel in past 6 months. If i fill my car with 35 litres petrol, i can hardly drive 320 ~ 350 kms only. Naturally fuel tank comes to empty.

Please mind one thing, the resale value of santro is very much higher compared to other cars. So people blindly buy the car even though the car is not giving good mileage

I wanted to clear off few things my dear friends.

1) the santro model which was manufactured till 2004 was 1 litre engine (998 cc)

This type of engine will normally give a mileage of 15 to 18 km, /litre. The car which is manufactured after 2004 is 1086 cc (1.1litre)

Petrol engine comparisons which is successfully giving good mileage with larger comfort in city

Honda city - 12 km/litre - (1497 cc)

Toyota camry - 7.8 km/litre - (2362 cc)

Mitsubishi lancer - 9.6 km/litre - ( 1468 cc)

When

Maruti swift - 12.8 km/litre - ( 1197 cc), maruti (a-star)- 17.4 km/litre - (998 cc), fiat palio, can give this much mileage, why not a 1086 cc car give a consistent mileage upto 12 km in city??

2) this car is branded & it holds the name with the previous(till 2005) records done. I strongly agree diesel engine will give a good mileage, but why not a 1086 cc car give not even 12 km/litre

3) crank shaft broken, low mileage, field complaints are more although it has high technology machines to inspect this parameters.

4) 4 lak worth car is not even able to satisfy the customer complaint. This 4 lak is not a small amount for me to spend. Totally unsatisfied with the car & dealers behaviour.

5.) One more question to the company?? Canu tell the procedure for the customers how u advertise your product with 13 km/litre. By running the engine idle or road test in city or highways?? If so how many cars are tested per year??

6)what has happened to the iqs rating & cs(customer satisfaction) rating given for santro?? Is the values still holds good in increasing?

7) no point in advertising the car in television , medias, newspaper with attractive features.

Santro is no more a good choice!! Still i wonder why the company refused to take complaint although my vehicle is just 6 months old. Think they don't have solution for this problem!!
