My Santro Automatic car has 4 speed auto box, when I put on Drive mode the cars starts moving at 5 kms per hour, a friend of mine explained this is due to the torque converter. If so then the CVT should not have this defect, but I found Honda City too had this defect.

" DEFECT" !!!!, yes I term it as defect as you need to control the car using the brakes, (not like Reva, where you put in F mode it doe not move automatically, which I think is correct)

Point 1: the Brakes get worn-off faster than normal. (As the car when in Drive mode need to be stopped kept on hold by brakes at Signals).

Point 2: When in D mode and and brake presssed (as I said at Signals), I see some strain in engine.

Point 3: Important: Assume one hypothetical situation, suppose I am driving alone in highway and get a heart attack before I could react I lose my senses, and become unconcious, has it been manual transmission it would have veered off and stopped by side (assuming there is nobody coming opposite and you veered off to left side when traffic was sparse), but in auto, the vehicle does not stop and keeps moving till it hits a big obstacle and run out of petrol.....(how dangerous....)

Does sombody know the right answers
