I am the owner of an Accent CRDi, now almost 4 years old; so feel qualified enough to share user experience with most ups and downs. Its a hardy car and pretty much trouble free for the first 3 years. It could do with more space, but that disadvantage is made up by its ease of movement through traffic and taking up parking space equivalent to a smaller car. While the low ground clearance and its shape being point and drive makes it easy to handle and gives a smooth driving experience; it can be a negative while riding through bumpy roads and unmarked speedbreakers that are becoming the rule rather than the exception in Mumbai city.

In the fourth year I have noticed a drop in mileage, more maintenance and repair needs including axel, filters and fuel injector. However, I usually use the car more than 100 kms each day and have done several long trips on it with the least hassle. 90.000 kms old now, maybe its just time to bid goodbye to a faithful mate and get a new set of wheels.

Update note to old review:

Stop looking for Accent CRDi reviews. They have been taken out of circulation and the company has stopped supporting it(at least not effectively - parts even just a month after it was taken off the market would take couple of months to come). Mileage is great. But maintenance is a bummer after the first 3 years if you are a medium to heavy user. And I discovered a tad too late that Hyundai has a reputation of making more money from changing ALL the possible spare parts that they can fool you into believing need to be replaced. At the end of 4 years and almost a lakh kms, I shelled out Rs.1.25 lakhs to get the car back from the ’’dead’’ - they claimed engine seizure(I have my own opinions on the subject) and 2 months in the garage(during which I had to spend on renting a replacement car). The bill came to that figure by them added up something else that had to be replaced to "solve the problem completely". I believe they never really found found out what the real problem was. But the second hand dealer I sold it to figured it out and had it fixed for Rs.2, 500(when I checked back with him a couple of months later - as I remained curious about the car's ultimate fate).

I sold it immediately as it got out of the garage, for 3.3 lakhs - as the original problem did not seem fully resolved. So net resale value was about 2 lakhs. I bought a Civic sometime last year - so far so good. Smooth ride, good mileage, comfortable. More when the car is about a couple of years old - so I can put up a real user review
