HYOSUNG MOTORS

Hyosung is a Korean company; you'd seen or test-driven one at a Kinetic Dealer. Hyosung's been building motorcycles since 1978.

If you want something more powerful the Hyosung 250.

*OVERSEAS IMPRESSIONS

250 range motorbikes are entry level most countries outside India. Sadly, it is considered first-timer syndrome.in USA/overseas.Surprise, it's unfair and true.

HYOSUNG - COMPARE WITH OTHERS

The general idea is - Korean motorbikes are not as good as TVS, Honda or Yamaha. After you've read this, written based on my personal experience with Hyosung 250/650 - you may change your opinion. Surprise, it's Korean with quality!

MOTIVATION FOR THIS REVIEW - HYOSUNG Comet 250

This review on the Hyosung Comet 250 2007 model is based on a test ride from a local Hyosung dealer in Australia. I've been impressed - ended up purchasing a Hyosung Comet 650 for a slightly higher price than the 250. Been enjoying riding this motorbike for some time now .

*Surprise, it's PURE BIKING PLEASURE!

*TEST DRIVING A HYSOUNG 250cc

*After due diligence on various motorbikes, I decided to focus on motorbikes below 750cc in terms of engine sizes.

It was a cool afternoon. I went to the Hyosung dealership and chose to take a used 250 naked/normal blue motorbike for a spin. The road speed limit was 80kmph. I joyfully rode away; quickly sped away into 70 in the 3rd gear; launched away on the highway into 110 km/hour range in higher gears. The acceleration was happily pleasing, the ride balanced and overall effect sportive. I felt I was a driving a bigger, new technology bike. I did not feel the absence of Fuel Injection. I could feel its power could go beyond the posted highway speed limit of 110 km/hour easily. You could feel the quality build, not heavy for its 150kilos or so, did not feel light either, but the right quality for an enjoyable ride.

*Surprise, it's brought a smile to my face.

Then, it started drizzling. Still, I maintained the speed; the Hysoung 250 Comet provided a stable, planted feel, good road grip, though I had doubts. The bike held its own, with a Honda CB 600 older bike rider pulling up alongside; showing respect. Imagine this: the feeling would be similar to a teenager's thrill on his first ride on Karizma, Pulsar220 or a Yamaha150. The 250cc Hyosung Comet is a revelation - after being told to expect that 250 is entry level, for college kids/first timers. Same goes for my 650cc with higher riding experiences.

Surprise, it's no slouch. *Surprise, Riding is believing.

VERDICT: HYOSUNG IS NO PUSHOVER

The 250 Hyosung Comet is the market leader in its class. I understand this is so in Australia**Surprise, it's complete value for money!

NEGATIVES

-no Honda for brand-reliability-image.

-no Fuel Injection

-cheap!

-**Surprise, it's Korean!

*FOR INDIA: My 2 cents!

*Provide LOW COST twin-engine motorbikes with low, mid-range power and long range pleasure driving suited to Indians, Indian roads it COULD BE THE BIGGEST HIT.

CHECK THIS OUT FOR Hyosung Comet 250
