Wish I was around in the year 1984 to live and witness the first ever daily soap of our Nation. Before Ekta Kapoor had even thought of her stupid K serials, this epic series named Humlog took the Nation by storm. It lasted for just a year with a few hundred episodes but left an everlasting impact on our people.
Every episode dealt with the issues faced by common man of India and the veteran actors of the serial portrayed the characters so effortlessly that the viewers wrote letters to these actors telling about their life problems and asking for solutions.
Every episode ended with a monologue from famous Hindi actor, Ashok Kumar. He talked about the episode and showed its relevance to the common mans life.
Be it Chutki, Badki, Dadi or Lallo, they all will stay in our hearts forever. Watch this series if you ever have been interested in the history of Indian Television. Most of the episodes are available online.
