Hum Aapke Hain Koun

Hum Aapke Hain Koun was created by Sooraj Barjatya, was a hit which matched “Sholay”. It broke free from the notion that Hindi film had to have violence.

It starred a great star cast, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Mohnish Behl, Anupam Kher, Alok Nath amongst others. Fun fact: This was the first time that Mohnish Behl had a positive character (correct me, if I’m wrong).

All I can say, is that this is not a perfectly good movie. The intense amount of songs bored me. But, it brought about a change in movies and it was the timing of the movie, which made it click.

The Plot

Rajesh and Prem are brought up their uncle after their father’s demise. The whole family decides to marry Rajesh to Pooja, daughter of Professor Chaudhary, a college friend of Rajesh. It is during their marriage ceremonies that Prem and Neesha, younger sister of Pooja fall in love with each other.

But, tragedies affect the life of these happy couples.

Acting

Mohnish Behl and Alok Nath were for me super.

Anupam Kher did what he had to do. Good job for him.

Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit were super.

Music

Too much. Too much. The songs are great, but there are 14 !! Great god…edit a few !

The best are

1.Didi, tera Deewar Deewana

  1. Yeh Mausam Ka Jadoo

  2. Wah Wah Ramji

Pros

Nice sets, good acting

Cons

Number of songs, too many characters, too long cinema
