Story:

From where do I come? Where I go? Is there a God? Can I see God? If God created everything, what created God? If there is an atom in the beginning, what created the atom? If there is no space how an atom can exist? Who created the space then? Endless questions have been my fellow traveler from my childhood. Even today, I didn't have fully convincing answers, but I am referring you a book which helped me to improve my own understanding on God.

I do not remember a thing which happened in my life before I reach 2.5 years of age. I can recall most of the important things after I reach an age of 5 years. My memory will be lost in some couple of decades. My cells will be damaged in the same period. I am gone from this world in some years. Or is that I don't come and go, I just breaths through my mind, which take a lifetime to breath once?

When I was small, I was afraid of darkness. Thanks to stories about ghosts and the real risk of a snake bite. I was told that, if I believe in God, I don't have to worry but to carry a torch when go out at night. Even if I have my fear, I used to pray for god for help. God was my protector.

My family was not that rich. Even I used to go to farms to help my parents when I was just 8 years or so. I didn't starve much. However, there had difficult days as well. So, I was told that if I pray, god will bless us with good fortune. I easily understood what God means and I used to have my sincere prayer as well. God was my hope.

From childhood I was curious to hear stories about Jesus, his miracles, his teachings and his sacrifice. I would wait for Sunday classes to learn more about him. When I was 9, while attending a mass, I myself raised my catechism book while the priest raised the bread and I gave the tone of the bell by my mouth and everybody was wondering, but I did it as in a hypnosis. Later I got a chance to study the Bible in detail and I used to question my teachers who never been able to answer my queries. In the process however, I came to know the values given by Jesus and he stand as my light on my way.(I know you have to identify your own street light here).

My quest to know God, understand the mysteries of the world extend my reach of knowledge to other religions, books and persons. It didn't prevent me from knowing other side of the omnipresent which others experienced.

I only did one miracle so far, i.e. giving life to a dead fish, whether you believe it or not. This was a miracle to common standards, but technically not. I loved the fish to maximum and that compel me not to give away my hope and the chance to experiment on the knowledge and the fish helped me to experience what a miracle means and it shown his thanks for another 4 months or so. I understood that to do a miracle one should have plenty of love, and now I can see God's love which prompts miracles. The incident also helped me to understand that miracles are not miracles, but only enlightenment in God's presence. Awareness is the way.

I was introduced to Quantum physics only recently and my first read was from Deepak Chopra's book Ageless body and Timeless mind which introduced me to many aspects of it. I don't have to think twice to buy the book with an attractive cover on the most interesting topic of me. The book is having 298 content pages and I have to say the book is a serious read. I was impressed by the book in the beginning, then little taken aback when he started repeating points and extending explanations. I was however was all on a high once it started talking about the serious facts and relations. The book was truly helpful to increase the pace of my God search. The book helped me to logic, understand and experience God with it, where I went ahead and come to my own conclusions at the end. So, I have no hesitation to recommend for all those who wish to know God in labs of mind.

In this book Deepak Chopra try to analyse the God experience in the Material reality, Quantum reality & Virtual reality. He tries to classify it to 7 categories, 1. God as a protector, 2. God as Almighty, 3. God of Peace, 4. God the Redeemer, 5. God the Creator, 6. A God of Miracles & 7. A God of pure being – "I Am". Deepak chopra analyse these 7 stages pretty well in detail. The reader has to identify at what stage one reached in the scale and 7 is the ultimate. Deepak Chopra also tries to analyse miracles and try to give explanation about strange powers in individuals in separate chapters. However, it is the chapter, Contacting God which impressed me much where Deepak try to explain the connection between Body – Brain – Mind – Soul.

Some flip side of the book.

1. 7 stages are detailed or extended more than necessary.

  1. Deepak Chopra does not consider how the person who has reached the 7 stages of god experience lives in the world. In my opinion, all those great souls which reached the 7 stages and lived in the world worked for the betterment of humankind. The social and human side of God experience is not considered at all by Dr. Deepak.

  2. Like in the book of Ageless body and Timeless mind, Deepak's book gives an impression that he didn't have the complete experience or faith in what he talk about. He really delivered a good explanation, however he portrayed later himself as a person who reached the 5th stage and trying to reach the 6th stage with some miracles under his belt. I thought even if he is so, he should not have listed it in the book, but kept it in his personal diary. (There is work to done for Deepak Chopra, if there is a reprint for it.)

Despite its flaws, the book was the height of reading experience about God. It is highly recommended for all those who love to have a serious god experience and unleash the mystery of life. Every mind is on a soul journey. This book will be a good help to understand the journey better. I am sure before end of the journey you will realise that to know your God you will have to find yourself!

Disclaimer:- The book may not be useful for all those who wants to believe god in the faith level only. Also I didn't mean to hurt/challenge anybody's religious believes and if at all there is any hurt by my words I have to say a big sorry in advance.
