The paradox that is "Housefull" furniture. This is going to be a reflection, narration of personal stupidity and enoromous emotional drain because of buying furniture from Housefull.
I made an online purchase of 3 items (a wardrobe, a shoerack and a book shelf) on July 1st week this year. I received shoerack and the book shelf in the second week of august. It is now second week of
October, and I still don't even see a remote possibility of getting the wardrobe. In the grand scheme of things, the wardrobe was to hold clothes and other items of my first baby, but that privilege is now
of a small puny table covered with couple of news papers.
Over the last 3 - 3.5 months, I have spent over Rs. 3000/- making STD calls to their Mumbai customer care. Most of the times, you are treated to a female Marathi voice asking to try again since the line is
busy. In those victorious moments when you can really get through to humans, the ONLY RESPONSE IS 'sir, mein call back karoonga'. I have lost count of how many hundred times I have heard it from them, but
haven't received a single call back. I consider myself privileged to know their front line customer care by name (Mr. Ashwin, Mr. Amit, Ms Shefali etc., ), who actually are the most dishonest, escapist and
ridiculous people that I have spoken to over the last few years. Their standard response repertoire include :
Their only aim is to fool the customer and escape from the call as quickly as possible. Perhaps they know, that on an average you will have to spend 20 minutes, continuously redialling their number, to even
get through to them. They will tell you that they will call you back, when in reality they won't even know your phone number.
Housefull publishes NO numbers/ contact information of their managers, if at all if they exist. Dont ever send them emails - I guarantee you that They wont look at them. I initially thought sending them an
email works, or sending tens of email works - but, boy how lame was I?
Over the last few months, I have tried everything :
My wardrobe is not in stock, okay - please change it to something else and ship -> DID NOT HAPPEN
Can I talk to your superior? -> NO, he is not in office and I cannot give you his number.
Can I get a refund? -> NO. We normally don't give refunds.
Are you freaking kidding me? -> Okay., if you want a refund it will be handled by sales department. They will call you back.
I call the sales department. -> Sir, I am trying to reach delivery department. Nobody is picking up the phone.
Can YOU, from sales department arrange for a refund? -> I will check and call you back.
I call again, somebody new picks up, and I ask for Ashwin/Amit/Shefali -> Sir they are busy, can I help you.
Okay, I explain everyting AGAIN -> Sir, let me check and call you back in 15 minutes.
I have even warned them that I will post reviews online which may affect their business., but they honestly dont care.
Bottom line, I have spent over 3K on STD calls, many hours hearing to the marathi voice saying that the line is busy, and the real music to my ear 'sir, mein call back karoonga'. And I have learnt that,
Housefull is a fraud. Period. They dont care a toss about their customers and they are proud about it.
I have decided to consider the money that I have paid them is down the drain. I will have to buy from somewhere else, so that my son's clothes atleast get a place they deserve.
And my friendly advice to you - if you ever decide to do business with Housefull, be prepared for a lifetime of learning in emotional control, phone conversations, loosing materialistic attachments of money and such, and may be a little Marathi.
