Hi  brothers of

mouthshuht.com

its nizam again. After Passion plus, Sek320i and Victor GL!

>>Unicorn price here in chennai, India Onroad 64, 000 INR

Let me categorize this "Flying machine - unicorn" on the

3  aspects namely.

  1. Who is the ideal rider for unicorn

  2. performance

  3. special features

>This is a "powerful biker's segment" bike 150cc

category, bike weighs 145+ kg, decent sliding towards tail( they call it wing

!) and sturdy.

>Rider must be in a good physique to control.

Atleast the rider should handle triples well in slow speed

traffic.

> Maximum riding comfort guarenteed.  Monosuspension is an added advantage.

>Mileage is around 48-55 kmpl

sure.( for normal unleaded petrol, better don’t use additves added petrol)

>power delivery of the bike is uniform,  Well designed Gear ratios. Sometimes when reducing

gears the gear change slips.

>Riding is damn smooth, no engine sound can be noticed when speed’s above

35kmph.

>The self start mechanism is such a soft operation

>The Tumble flow technology

also  makes the engine cooling

even faster and better air mixing claiming added mileage.

>It has a bright head lamp and sharp tail lamp, headlamp operates on

DC/Battery too.

>Answers

for Mothshut.com members

1. pls add more reviews on mileage and suspension

> Mileage is sure 50 kmpl, even if u are a worst driver, suspension is suited

for city riders only, but best in its class

 2.Fuel meter problem in Unicorn

>It has reserve of 1.3 or 1.5 litres, when the fuel inside is about 3

litres always no fuel guage problem will occur, andnote the side of the

fuel-guage ball and fill fuel alwaysin the opposite side

3.Honda unicorn new looks, More internal changes thn externat changes;

> More changes are done only in the external looks in the new model, but the

flying machine remains the same and best

4.Help-pulsar or Unicorn for an 18 year old?

> I would suggest some 125cc bikes, like discover OR shine OR Zeus, else go

for Unicorn, and  ther is a common myth

that riding pulsars cause  groin injuries,

CBZ-xtreme and unicorn are best in those seat/comfort cases.

 6. wanted to know about rumors of the unicorn vibrations after

1000kms.

> partly yes, but the answer is its baby smooth when u buy but alwaysremains

smoother than any other bike( smoother than Suzuki Zeus too.)after 1000kms or

more, Its actually the wearing out of the plastic components attached, and I

noticed a minor problem with the chain, it remains very loose in NEUTRAL, but

when on gears it is normal tight unlike other bikes, but overall satisfaction

is guaranteed

8.test ride results on Honda Unicorn wanted

> easy glide on 80kmph within 15 seconds. Mileage 48-55kmpl, don’t rash

drive!

 >Now some negatives, I came to

know.

1.When using this bike rough, the chassis looses its line of gravity, and bends

left or right in Centimeters, from the place where monoshock is joint( down),

and it may cause  some inconvenience of not-enjoying the monoshock fully.

  1. Digital panels have conquered the market but unicorn have not.

  2. Unicorn is not for wheeling or similar aggressive circus biking, but u can

be a racer in the track

NEWLY ADDED( FEB 2008)

1. Sporty Unicorn version *boasts a little bit tweaked engine, so thatit

appears to be a bit-higher in the pick up side, but very little.by the wayi

don’t like its color and its wheels too. its better Spokes wheel than a ugly

alloyed wheel for Unicorn

 2. Is unicorn best in all aspects?

No, its not best in all aspects, but the engine is good and some other features

surrounding it. I have to note that unicorn is First rolled out 150or power

bike for HMSI, but pulsars or existing HUNK, CBZ-X are already having their

generations of study about the Indian riding conditions. In a year or two

unicorn will still improve and best adapt to every Indian rider

3.Is Digital panels important?

No, its a fancy thing, but a trip meter or a real-time mileage indicator would

do best.

4. What I expect from next gen unicorn?

A fuel injection based type, single gear pedal, a little bit stylish body! and

any new kind of braking tech update from existing Disc.

5.Suggestions .

two wheeler industry  people, be aware if TATA can produce a  600cc

car for 1lack, if u guys going on like hiking prices of bike beyond 50 then 60

then 80 thousands, one day TATA  will come  to the two wheeler

industry making 200cc bikes for  25000 INR, using good manufacturing

practices.!

( summa, vela'ya ethi'kittey pogadheenga, Aama!)

>Maximum try to fill fuel @ the same kind or brand of fuel. dont often

changeit. And never fill fuel above half the tank.(i.e) never fill more than

4 ltrs @ a time!

>Consult atleast two mechanics when u have no idea on  a thing in your

bike, dont rely on one mechanic like he is a magic man, Also not always the

showroom services are best than the roadsiode counterparts.

>Please note down every work on the bike and cost spent on it from the

buying date and also mark the respective kilometers it has run. Find yourself

an annual survey on the statistics, then who can be a better Bike owner, than

you!

>u can mail me if u have queries or unsatisfaction.
