I bought Shine in 2006 May. I have done 40, 000KM so far.
Shine was pretty new on road in 2006. It was not proven but I bought this bike only because of it's brand HONDA. I trust HONDA more than any other brand.
My requirement was a family bike, easy handling. Shine is not funky nor plain. It is 125CC good enough for the city ride.
Its giving 55KM/L in the city conditions. It has very good pick-up. The ride is very comfortable up to the speed of 80KM. Most of the times I speed between 40 and 65 in the city. I don't do long drives.
The disk brake is very good. Just apply back drum brake and front disk brake then the bike will stop to your expectation.
Self start is working fine. Regular battery maintenance is required. Self or kick start can be done in any gear posion. We don't have to bring the bike to nutral to start . Its very helpfully in the heavy traffic conditions.
The engine sound is very quiet. No vibrations and hassles.
The pickup is very good. Low-end torque is perfect. You can go in the third gear from the stop position. No need to change gears frequently. Very helpful in the traffic conditions.
Maintenance free bike. Just do the regular oil change and it will perform like a new bike.
I never felt performance issue with the bike till date. It's performing as it was new one.
A month back I changed front disk brake and chine spoket.
I went to Honda showroom to buy Disk-pads and Honda sales guy told me that disk-pads are not available in the stock because Honda factory is on strike. I could not find the spares from Honda. Honda has to improve on the customer dealing front. They are lazy bugs.
Initially I use to feel the bike was not that attractive but after the usage I am loving it more.
Some times I feel its like a Cheetah.
These days I am seeing Shines more on the road. Its doing very good. Buyers are smart.
I can't see any issue in the bike. Its a tough bike among 125CC and it's the best.
Today I felt like I did the justification to my bike by giving review on the MS.
