Hero/Bajaj/TVS is more durable than Honda engine

Bougth Dream Neo bike in February 2014 and almost a year, later thinking of writing a review, I was waiting for a bike from Honda since Honda came to India in year 2000, as I was very much impressed with Hero Honda CD100/CD Delux which was launched by Hero(with Honda engine) in 1983 and I had heard people running 1-1.5 lakh KM same engine without boring or repair of engine.

I was waiting when Honda will launch their most economical and less cc bike in India. As Hero had a contract with  Honda, Honda was not allowed to manufacture 100-110 cc bike in India. When in 2010 the contract between two was broken, I had a hope for less cc bike by Honda. Then came Honda Dream Yuga in  2012 end, but buying a bike was a risky job as it was just a launch and I started watching reviews here at mouthshut.Initial reviews were not good the mileage was not so good and chain was giving sound and oil leak from engine head were some problems so I waited and they again relaunched Honda modified engine with HET(Honda eco technology) after this their was sudden appreciation for this bike in this thread at Mouthshut.

As mileage some were getting as 68-70 which was decent as 74 was claim by company. Most of other companys like Bajaj, TVS when they claim X mileage you get X-20-25% mileage normally). There was still some issues with chain sproget but much less than before. Finally I purchased Dream Neo in Feb, 14 a year back.To my surprise I got Mileage 72-73 almost matching their claimed mileage of 74, only with driving in 35-45 KM/Hour range and very less braking, not speeding like mad man and again braking on speed breaker.

Only thing I remembered during my all services to write on service card not to retune my carburetter for mileage and the service engineer did same and .After running 6000 KM I still get 71-72 mileage although pick up is not so great but I am happy with a bike which runs 80-90 paise per KM much less than a bus fare in Bangalore.

I have to be careful about changing oil every 2000 KM and service every 3000-4000 KM along with again oil change this time also. One more important point I want to add to keep tubeless tyres of Dream Neo at 40 Kg and 30Kg KG not 36 and 26 as every 4 days these tubeless tyre loose  4 Kgs of airpressure, If we are generally travel double, be sure to have 4 KG more than prescribed tyre pressure to get good mileage from any tubeless tyre bike
