It's been more than a year I bought Dazzler, June 07, 2010. Glad that I completed 1st anniversary and the bike stills remains with the same quality as it does when I purchased. Haven't come across any issues till date, just to bring notice that the bike stopped once at high speed and thats definitely because of service overdue :). Max speed till date is 122 and the mileage varies between 53-58. Service charges around 500 and considerably good at Pratul and Fortune honda. Odometer reads as 14500 kms. Its been close to 3 months I bought Dazzler, let me share my experiences with you all..
The main reason why I opted dazzler is because of the Name I trust HONDA.. As u all are aware of unbeatable Honda Unicorn performance, the same engine is tweaked now into Dazzler with more power.
The performance of the bike is really good, and I feel a smooth ride with a butter smooth gear transmission. The riding and handling comfort are equally good.
The back disc provides very good quality braking and a rigid stability even at high speeds. Every one doubts that back disc would create problem, but I would say its 15% sharper than the drum brake and requires no maintenance..
There are questions raised as Dazzler doesn't posses a kick start option, even I was scared while purchasing, but let me tell u dazzler has maintenance free battery. In these 3 months I haven't come across any starting trouble issues ( I am sure about this in the years ahead :) )
Now a days all the bikes released started removing kick start option like FZ, pulsar 220, New Hunk 2010. So imagine the companies have the trust on the batteries lifetime, with out which they wouldn't have come into market.
Tubeless tyres are really awesome with excellent wheel base this is helpful esp in Indian roads. and what to say about Mono suspension, every one knew abt that excellence which it provides to rider and the pillion.
The ground clearance is superb.. I never face issues while crossing a tough speed breakers even at high speeds. Mileage is usually 50+ (toggles between 50-54) and can expect more after 2nd service :). with addition of these new features I would say the cost is justified a 3-4k more than normal unicorn.
Honestly speaking the only thing which I feel dazzler lacks is in its style. Its good, but not that great as FZ or pulsar.
But I feel the performance surpasses this. In the long run its the performance which makes you love the bike not the style.
I have experience with other bikes like FZ and pulsar as well.. I agree, FZ is superb in style with good wheel base, but lacks ergonomics, you can easily experience back pain after a hour journey and the mileage is not satisfying and extremely poor service of Yamaha with expensive spare parts.
Pulsar is equally good in style, but it lacks smoothness, the engine vibration at high speeds and gear transmission is very hard and these problems persists as days proceed. Pickup of pulsar is excellent and more than unicorn and now I would say dazzler is very close to pulsar in this case.. mileage of pulsar is on an avg 45(might vary), the maintenance cost of this bike is very high, u need replacement of some or the other parts after every 10k KMS and I cannot expect a good re-sale value( seen this numerous times). All these above mentioned are my opinions and experiences.. would feel sorry if it has hurt some one :)
Over all, I could summarize as if u need a good quality bike with out maintenance cost and considerable style with more mileage and high power, then I would say undoubtedly its Dazzler.
