Honda Activa - Designed for Everyone... Review on Honda Activa

Hamara Honda Activa se bahut purana rishta hai...My family is happily riding on Honda Activa since 5 years and we have 3 Honda Activa in my family...

Although its very late for writing review on our favourite vehicle, but its always better to write something on your favorite things anytime then waiting or searching for some suitable time or reason...Hence I am writing this review on behalf of my family...Please share your experience here if you own Honda Activa or you have also got a chance to ride Activa sometime...

We have bought our first Honda Activain the year 2003 for my elder sister. She was fed up with the gear problems of her Hero Puch Shakti 3G and searching for some trouble free scooter. We opt for Honda Activa which was most suitable for her as she was already riding Bajaj Scooter and Hero Puch Shakti with gears. She was very happy with her new scooter and still enjoying riding her Activa even after 5 years.

Afterwards in the year 2005 we again bought another Honda Activafor my dad as he was also having some problems with his Bajaj Scooter like starting trouble and also the weight, hence we decided that Honda Activa is again a good option for my dad as its very easy to handle and the ride is so comfortable. And we bought another Activa exactly after two years of our first Activa.

I was enjoying my rides on Hero Honda Passion that time, so I rarely got a chance to ride any of the Activa at my home, only in the case if my bike gone for servicing or got punctured I have to ride on Activa...

Then in 2006 I relocated to Ahmedabad for a job and handed over my lovely bike (Hero Honda Passion) to my younger brother. I was enjoying my friend's bikes at Ahmedabad and did not feel need of a personal vehicle as a bachelor over there. But last year I got married and really need a vehicle for us. First I thought to bring my Hero Honda passion to Ahmedabad but after seeing the condition of my bike in a year (my dear brother took all the joys of riding a bike but never worried about servicing) which compel me to drop the idea and also we need a vehicle that my wife can easily learn to ride. Hence we didn't think much on this issue and once again we went to the Honda Showroom at Ahmedabad and bought another Activa in June, 2007 (right after two years of our second Activa).

This is the story of our family proudly owning three Honda Activa scooters...I hope somebody from Honda will read review and give at least some appreciation for our loyalty to Honda...

NOW SOMETHING ABOUT ACTIVA

Activa is one of the most successful scooter model from Honda in the Indian vehicle market. It was launch in 2001 and it has revitalised the Indian scooter market. Its design is very attractive & comfortable and it can be easily handled by all as it does not have gears and rider has only two main controls - accelerator and brakes.

Also some pros & cons of Honda Activa...

PROS

Ease & comfort of riding

Honda Activa is really a useful and comfortable vehicle for all. Right from the teenagers to the ladies and the oldies, this vehicle is meant for all. Anyone  can enjoy riding this vehicle.

Simple & Good Looks- the look and style of Activa is really catchy. it does not have unuseful colorful graphics. It comes in five metallic colors.

Tuff Up tubes - these are the good feature of this sccoter, to prevent the sudden loss of air pressure by sealing holes or cuts made in the tube by the piercing of any foreign object. But we should check the tyres ar regular intervals for any nail or pin.

Power & Pick Up- Being a 102 CC engine with 4-stroke technology & 7 Bhp @ 7000 rpm bike its much more powerful in pick up than other bikes. You don't have to wait for the side by other vehicles, you can safely over take them anytime.

Servicing- Honda has many dealers & authorized service centers across the country, I have serviced my vehicles at Bhopal, Ahmedabad & Indore. All service stations were fine.

No Noise- this scooter does not make noise like old Kinetic Honda & other scooters.

Price- the price is affordable for anyone who likes to own such a comfortable scooter, Its on road price is around Rs. 43K - 44K (approx) and if we add the price of accessories, then we can proudly own this lovely vehicle at around Rs. 45K - 46K (approx)

CONS

No free accessories - Honda does not provide all the essential accessories with the vehicle, provides only the standard accessories. The buyer has to purchase at least some of the essential accessories separately. The buyer has to spent minimum of Rs. 1500 or above as per his choice & requirement.

Mileage- Most of the owners always worry about its mileage, the mileage assured by the company is around 50 KMPL (under test conditions) but it can easily give mileage upto 40-45 if we ride it properly and get service regularly.

Skiding Problem- I have experienced problem of skidding in my bike (don't know about others), but only in rainy season. I have discussed with the technician and he said everything is fine and suggest me to take care on the muddy and slippery concrete roads.

Some Suggestions from my side to ride your bike safely for a long time:

1. Always start your Scooter with kick for your first ride of the day, later you can use the self start push button, this will help in charging of the battery and also ensures its long life.

   
   




2. Always check the air pressure of the tyres, which you can do easily at the time of your visits to fuel stations.

   
   




3. Always get service of your scooter as per the schedule and only on the Honda authorised service stations. And buy only original spare parts if required.

   
   




4. Ride your scooter with utmost care on concrete roads specially in rainy season.

   
   




5. Always ride your scooter in right position or posture, your back should remain straight & relaxed while riding.
