II booked a karbonn A15 mobile on homeshop18.com on 9th dec.2012 vide order no.919865508, Mobile costed Rs 4425/- after 25% rebate.Delivery time mentioned was 7 to 10 days, but it was delivered after 13 days.Mobile was defective as just after inserting two sims, it did not detect one sim out of the two.Sim two slot has some defect, which was visible as some pin which connect to sim was missing.Tickets by email was raised and phone to their helpline 0120-4455918 was immediately done to convey that mobile just received has a defect and home shop18 should either replace or refund the money.


Helpline person sent SMS that mobile to be sent back to softek surya, nehru place, new delhi for replacement as soon as possible and courier receipt should be mailed to care@homeshop18.com and they will send the new mobile along with cheque for the payment made for courier.I packed the mobile and sent it through speedpost, the very next working day and scanned copy of receipt was mailed to care@homeshop18.com. After two days  i tracked the spedpost through internet, to my surprise softek surya REFUSED to accept the courier.Defective mobile is now coming back to my place.Homeshop18 people are cheats and high grade frauds.First they send defective products, they they make false promises of replacement then simply refuse to accept the courier.I'll update further about the story as I receive back the mobile, matter was raised with their helpline and again they said they will contact me within 48 hours, but going by my experience and other fellow members, this will again turn out be false one.


Here is the update....... Reality none of the emails and phone calls were replied to by homeshop bandits.I consulted a lawyer, he honestly told me that case will take at least one year and you will get a penny compensation.They are not likely to turn up in consumer forum.And at last I took the mobile to Karbonn service center, there I got some respite, staff there was cooperative, and even they were critical of homeshop18 after I told them the whole story.After examining they told me that mobile can be repaired and will probably cost less than Rs five hundred.Then, I  Had some sigh of relief.


From my experience it is clear that  Homeshop replacement and refund system  is absolute farce.They sell defective product and to lure the customer they give discount coupons.Once customer get the defective product, there is no guarantee that he/she will ever get the replacement or refund. Defective and third rate product are there for sale on their site, and their will be no replacement or refund.SO BE CAREFUL.NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM HOMESHOP18.
