Motorcycles are very popular in India. They are very cheap in comparison to Cars by at least 4 times. They are suitable for road conditions in India and also economical from mileage point of view. Companies like Hero Honda, TVS Suzuki, Kawasaki Bajaj and few more recognized the open market in India a long ago and set up collaborations to cash on the opportunity. Now the competitions has become so intense that you will find new models coming by the difference of few months. All they do is improve the mileage or engine power. I think this competition has seen Hero Honda emerge as a largest producer of 2-wheelers in world. As long as you keep riding they’ve got machines to suite your needs and all that crap. It can be Passion, Ambition or CBZ. You have got money they have got the bike. Passion is not an exception in the bike world.

As usual it’s a 4-stroke bike with 98 cc engine. The style, look and speed are very ordinary. I mean you have named it Passion what aspect of the bike drives you passionate. Is it Power, Look or Mileage? I don’t see any outstanding feature in the bike. May be they should have named in CD 100 category. CBZ is the only ground breaking model from the company. I could say Passion was one of the stages in the evolution process of cool bikes. I’ll tell you, this is the bike era in India. Everyone from young generation seems excited about new models introduced in market. CBZ, TVS Victor, Bajaj Eliminator are at the top of the bunch. Even I’m waiting for the chance to get my hand on Eliminator or Victor. I’ll be a satisfied person even if I get to drive these bikes once.

To give some relief or hope the bike has a maximum power of 7.5 Ps at 8000 Revolutions Per Minutes (RPM) compared to Maximum power of 7.2 bhp at 8500 RPMs. The pickup

is better than CD 100 and Splendor. I like the firing of Splendor though. Maximum speed is 85 kmph, which is 5 less than Splendor. Overall the bike should be good for longer commutes. Maximum Torque is 11 Newton-Meter. As you may know torque is a turning or twisting force. More technically it is the moment of a force; the measure of a force tendency to produce torsion or rotation about an axis.

Weight of the bike is 116 kgs. Ground clearance is about 160 mm. To summarize the features quickly it is more like CD 100 and Splendor. All numbers are almost same in these bikes. Structure tubular, a double cradle type. Fuel tank capacity is 13 liters with about 1 liter for reserve. Good strong body, good pickup and a 60+ kmpl average are some of the positives of the bike. After reviewing about 5 bikes previously I will come to the end of the 6 th one and overall 8th, which would be probably second last of mine reviews on 2-wheelers. I had a ride of CBZ and Victor but don’t have much experience to talk about them in details. I will look forward to review them though, once I get more technical knowledge on them. I have few cars to review though including Maruti 800. Till then its riding the old 2-leged horse.
