An intense drama involving love, deceit and merciless revenge, complementing the phrase - Behind every Fortune there is a Crime.

Story: Vikram Diwan(Priyanshu Chatterjee) is the elder brother of Aditya Diwan(Sharman Joshi) and the Chairman of ‘Diwan Group of Companies’. Siyaa(Zarine Khan) has an affair with Vikram and is pregnant. Vikram dies as his private jet blows up mid-air. Aditya takes over the reins of Diwan Group and marries Siyaa. Kaaya(Daisy Shah) is the loyal and trusted secretary of Aditya and due to her talent and competency in Sales, is able to clinch high value deals for Diwan Group.

One fine day Aditya receives an expensive gift - a high end convertible Audi Sports car from Saurav Singhania(Karan Singh Grover) - owner of an International Group of Companies. Saurav creates an impressive profile for Diwan Group which amazes Aditya as the details captured were beyond his awareness. Aditya is curious to know why Saurav is interested in his life. Saurav then makes a business deal wherein he offers a signed blank cheque to Aditya in return for a one night stand with his wife Siyaa. No, this plot is not stolen from ‘Indecent Proposal’ of Demi Moore.

This is just a ploy of Saurav to reach his goal. Non acceptance of this proposal would mean a direct threat to finish off Diwan Group of Companies. This particular conspiracy will remind you of Sunil Shetty – Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Dhadkan’ and the double crossing element from Saif Ali Khan – Akshay Khanna starrer ‘Race’.  The destruction mode is activated and the brand image of ‘Diwan Group’ is tarnished through a well drawn-out sabotage. Having no knowledge of Saurav or his business, Aditya is now determined to investigate and fight back to give Saurav a taste of his own medicine, but realizes that Saurav is smarter and he also knows a dark secret shared only between him and Siyaa.

Fabulous Plot: The strength of the movie lies in the suspense and thrill which is brilliantly executed to the core. The viewer is kept engaged with intense and gripping suspense which unfolds with every passing moment. The bold scenes are nicely captured and the glamour content suited the occasion as well as the screenplay thus complementing the tag of an erotic thriller. The costumes were nicely picked, impressive and the lead characters looked smart and elegant.

Cast: The three gorgeous ladies – Daisy Shah, Zarine Khan and Puja Gupta looked glamorous, stunning and were highly effective in their respective roles. Daisy Shah left her mark while Zarine Khan looked a bit overweight. The talented Sharman Joshi was brilliant with his performance; however Karan Singh Grover steals the show. His personality was mesmerizing and executed the character of ‘Saurav Singhania’ to perfection. No surprise he was awarded the ‘Gladrags Most Popular Model’ and featured in ‘Asia’s Top 50 Sexiest Men on the Planet’ list as well as in ‘Times Top 50 Most Desirable Men’.

Songs: The music of this film is composed by Amaal Mallik, Meet Bros and Baman. The visuals were fantastic and screenplay impressively executed. Puja Gupta looked stunning in ‘Neendein Khul Jaati Nahin’. Sharman – Zarine in ‘Tumhe Apna Banane Ki’ while Karan – Daisy in ‘Tu Ishaq Mera’ and  ‘Wajah Tum Ho’ were brilliantly shot and set the screen on fire. The erotic content was limited only to the songs and seemed irrelevant due to the strong storyline.

Direction: The film is the third installment of the Hate Story series. The first part directed by Vivek Agnihotri with Paoli Dam in the lead was the best so far. The second installment involving Surveen Chawla and directed by Vishal Pandya was badly made and highly disappointing but managed to do well at the box office as it rode on the success of its prequel, just like all sequels do.  This time it seems Vishal Pandya learnt from his mistakes and delivered a splendid product. The direction was nicely supported by the cast who were thoroughly engrossed in their characters. Except for the fight scenes which seemed amateurish, the rest of the film deserved full marks. The screenplay by Vikram Bhatt and Madhuri Banerji added great value. The dialogues were hard hitting and nicely delivered. Cinematography by Prakash Kutty is praiseworthy.

Few noteworthy dialogues: A loser is not the one who falls, but the one who fails to get up after a fall; A call girl does not charge for lying on the bed but for leaving the bed; A pigeon builds its nest only to accommodate its members but a man always looks to build a bigger home; Never underestimate your enemy.

Pros: Cast, Dialogues, Songs, Cinematography, Screenplay and Direction

Cons: Unimpressive Fight Choreography, Plot seems unconvincing in bits

Conclusion: Hate Story 3 has all the ingredients for a wholesome ‘paisa vasool’ entertainment with twists and turns. The plot is strong, nicely executed and flavored with glamour, suspense & thrill which will keep you rooted till the end. This T-Series film is highly recommended and worth a watch.
