I got this card after their representative approached me. After providing the necessary information for the background checks I was pestered by their verification department who called on me at my place of work at least 3 times. It appears that HSBC doesn't have it's act together because one department never seems to know what the other is doing.
The next month when the statment arrived I found that they had levied an outstation clearing charge for a Bombay cheque dropped in Pune. Apparently, the fact that other major credit card companies do not levy such a charge does not deter HSBC from doing this. No wonder I got through to their customer service representatives in record time. Most of their earlier customers would have fled to other banks after their ''HSBC experience''.
Needless to say, I cancelled the card and will not be in a position to recommend it to anyone.
