I have taken my HDFC life insurance with Attur(Salem) branch. my second year annual premium is due this month. There were lots of inconveniences made by the branch staff(Kumar) and I was finally fed-up and decided to close the policy. I told the staff and branch manager that I was unhappy, and escalated things to Salem branch manager Devarajan. He asked me to talk to a person named Shankar(who is from Salem visited Attur branch on that day) he was like give complete false information to me. He was making fun that I have any doubts in his statements, I can very well visit Mumbai or Chennai branch. It was such a worst experience I had with Shankar& Kumar. I was told that I can't discontinue the policy before the 5years lock-in period. I then visited the branch with the policy documents and highlighted the things mentioned about discontinuence procedure. I am not sure he provided me the false information knowingly or unknowingly. These people are not just educated about the insurance products that they sell in the branch. But on the other side they have as very wrong attitude towards the customer.
