I opened my account in HDFC bank in April this year. I was having my saving account in two other nationalized banks. After opening the account in HDFC bank I Immediately closed one of my account in Nationalized bank with which I was totally fed up with the kind of services they were offering me.
Listed below are few differences I have observed between Nationalized banks & Private Bank (HDFC)
In Nat. bank they behave like they are oblizing you with their services but in pri. bank everybody is ready to help.
Account opening process is very complex in Nation. bank but it is very simple in Privat. bank though a bit costly.
One can access money any time using ATM's of Privat. banks , ATM's are not provided in general by Natio. banks.
ATM's can perform other tasks too :
Depositing money thru cheques/ cash
Balance Inquiry
Mini Statement
Enquiry for Other services provided by the bank
and so on.
For most of the works one need not to go the bank if the account is in private bank , infact in 9 months I have barely gone to the bank 9 times.
HDFC banks have a good network of ATM's in south Delhi and Central Delhi. Their ATM's are located at:
OPP DEER Park(SDA),GK1,GKII,OPP IIT,Vasant Vihar,Connaught Place,Asaf Ali Road, and one is in West Delhi, one in NOIDA
So if one is living in South Delhi this bank is very convenient .
Account Opening Balance : 5000.00
But one can withdraw all of his balance as the quarterly balance needed is 5000.00
The HDFC bank is providing many other services like : phone banking,Internet banking,Mobile banking,Debit card (well accepted)
Their Foreign cheques clearance is also fast.
All in all this bank provides very efficient services.
