I am customer to this bank even before it was born. I had account in Times Bank which was taken over by HDFC bank in late ninetees. Times bank gave an excellent service and I must say they didnt make any false claims. But now I am looking forward to get rid of this bank.
HDFC bank is like any useless bank if it comes to giveing any service and is very prompt in debiting any charge from your account.
I base my comments on following incident in recent past with the bank...
Change of address is a long drawn process.
It is suppose to be all networked bank but if you have wrong charges debited to your account you will have to call the same branch. And if you dont know the contact nos. of the branch then only option is you have to visit them.
I had a debit card about 8 years back which expired somewhere in 99.
I didnt close the account and was using it whenever I was in town or to issue numbai based cheques.
In jan 2006 I found debit card charges are still being debited from my account.
After lot of phone calls and emails I am told that I will have to visit the branch.
When I told them that the card had expired long back I am told sir our coputer has extended the date of expiry to Jun 06 and if you dont block it now it will do it again and you will be charged again.
Great bank...... They should advertise......... Not even On LAN. or We will take care of your CASH you dont have to bother any more.
