Buy HDFC service and feel like an underprivileged!

The mess had started some time ago when I decided to close all my accounts(all means mine, and family accounts) with HDFC bank. Now you don't ask me why I decided to close all my accounts with HDFC bank, it will start another story and will require me to write four more negative reviews.:)


HDFC follows a super amazing process to answer your complaints. First, you will get an automated, robotic reply, thanking you for contacting support team and they will assure you they will revert in two'working' days. And they will return promptly. Not with the solution, but with regrets that you had problems with HDFC bank and they eagerly look forward for providing you the solution but are helpless(of course useless also) and they need more time, say seven days. Sorry, seven'working' days.


Now you think that HDFC is working very hard to resolve the issue and they have appointed the special squad to investigate the matter which will give you the solution?. Forget it. After Seven'working' days, they will still need four more'working' days.(No exaggeration here, I can attach proofs and yes, I am not going to use the word'working' hence forth, wherever day occurs it means working day(for HDFC Bank).:))


Today, After almost 20 days, my query has not been answered. But I am following up and I have approached the higher level(presumably, stupids sitting at higher levels).


Now I had an amazing experience today with HDFC Banks at New Delhi. I had to close my ISA accounts which were being charged unethically and unduly by the Bnak. I went to HDFC bank main road Kalkaji branch, where the front desk took some time to understand what "ISA" means? Probably she had only heard of'ISI' in Pakistan and so she directed me to another crap who instead of helping me close the ISA account, started guiding me of better investment plans and at the end sregretted(like support team of HDFC Bank), that they do not have forms for closing ISA account. Sounds stupid? But that is what the fact is and yes wait, the story isn't over. He sincerely directed me to another branch which he said is only 100 meters away. Now, I wonder why HDFC has two branches which are only 100 meters away and both occupied with either useless or untrained people. Read further, you will agree with me:)


Anyway, my objective was to close ISA account, so even at 44 degrees outside temperature, I kept cool and headed towards another branch. Here the first person(on front desk) of the bank repeated that the bank does not have'ISA' closure forms and I should wait for a day.(Thank god, she knew what ISA means). I asked her, "Doesn't it sound stupid to her that bank does not have the required forms?" She pretended that she is busy with some'important' work and repeated that she is also helpless(probably like all other employees at HDFC Bank). This is where I lost my temper, I decided to talk to manger who was not on his seat for some fifteen or more minutes. And when he came he ignored me and started checking his emails. I requested his five minutes to which he agreed immediately. when I talked to him and explained him the situation, he could understand from my tone that if he doesn't give me a solution his left cheek may be left with a life long impressions of my right hand. I was so frustrated with the attitude of these people, or say bank itself.


He again took me to same lady on front desk(who had earlier denied of having the form in bank) and suggested her that she should take a print out of soft copy and give it to me or simply email it to me. Now my question is why this lady didn't think of this solution? Why she had to wait for manager to give this solution? Anyway, form was printed, copied and given to me. This had already killed my 30 minutes.


I filled the form right there in bank and went to same lady to submit it. Again, once again, this lady refused to take the form and directed me to another table(idiot, you can say), This is where the whole scene became'sarkari'. The person on that table redirected me to the same lady. So now tell me what I should have done?


Of course, I shouted at the person without wasting any time, I shouted virtually at all employees or you can even say HDFC Bank. The guy could smell the problem and he himself went to that lady to give the form where these two idiots had another argument for five minutes. Ultimately, the form was accepted by this lady and she had no guts to see me eye to eye anymore.


I asked for an acknowledgment of the submitted request. Once again, there were question marks, exclamations and all sorts of punctuation on her face. As if I had asked for something which is against government laws or something which HDFC bank never told this lady about.


So, I suggested her that she should take a copy of this form and give it to me after her sign and stamp. Ok, now she understood, what acknowledgment means. She requested her colleague to get a copy and give me the form(I told you she was busy, isn't it?). Her colleague promptly left the chair and got the copy and waved the same in front of me. Sorry, I dint accept it. It still needed to be signed and stamped so she gave to the same lady(most busy person on this earth), who gave dirty look to me and completed the formality. My job was done, ultimately.


Friends, the job which could be finished in merely five minutes took almost two hours of my day, sorry working day. I have all the reason to be angry to write a negative review and not to recommend this bank to anybody.


P.S. HDFC Bank has been my preferred bank since last many years and special thanks to Aquem Branch in Margao, Goa, which made it best experience for me by providing me services without any complaints. But suddenly I feel that, HDFC Banks in Delhi need to provide training to their employees for treating their customers well or atleast in human way.


At the end I think it may not be the Bank itself to be blamed but branches of it may have problems. But who the hell is responsible for such lousy branches and such useless employees? Bank itself. Right?
